Could be. My girlfriend had a Fiesta, and it did not have the shitty transmission issue. However it was totaled and her rental Focus definitely did.

I didn’t have an issue with the autos in the Fiesta, Focus dual clutch is one of the worst driving cars I’ve ever drove.

I’m arguing that the drivers phone should be paired and disabled, not passengers. I am not sure what authority such a rule would fall under, but vehicles are required to have specific equipment to meet safety standards, one would think disabling a major distraction could potentially be similarly legislated.
