Is this in any way surprising, I mean what exactly do they have to show off?

Was about to say the same thing but you said it more eloquently/less rudely. Cause sweet jesus is the braindead whataboutism responses getting old fast.

Wow the world for real doesn’t care about the constant wars against brown people. Europeans attacking each other though, lets pause the game release. I don’t know how I feel about it, its just odd as hell.

if you can’t put things off in the real world for 1-3 minutes while you log out or warp somewhere, that’s the bigger issue than not being able to pause.

Okay, a troll then, got it.

When playing the game in single-player there’s straight-up no reason to not allow pausing that outweighs the fundamental user-friendliness of a pause button.

Are you being deliberately obtuse or are you actually dull enough to not get the absolute basics of why pausing is a good thing for games to let you do?

Apparently. In my defense, Poe’s Law is in full force here. There’s literally no difference between RTLewis’ comment and earnest comments by completely ignorant fans of the genre. Heck, Lewis’ comment is tame in comparison to some claims people have made.

whoosh

pls no politics in my cyberpunk game. this is a non-political genre.

If Assassin’s Creed, God of War, Horizon, Witcher, Diablo, Final Fantasy and WoW can all be called RPGs, then Cyberpunk can absolutely be called one too. Personally, I think the term has become so broad as to be basically useless these days.

Maybe they thought that dressing up in traditional attire of cultures that aren’t their own as white people would’ve been 10x worse.

So....a solution? Sounds like you don’t want them to explore these cultural identifiers and the explorer-genre tropes. Should half the cast be fired and people you find “approved” be playing this game?

This may seem like an overly cynical and bad-faith interpretation of what Critical Role is doing with this new campaign.”

Because, for Microsoft, it isn’t about creating content. It is about controlling the market by limiting consumer access to just their ecosystem.

>I find it a little strange that the company would compensate people who don’t jive with its outward stance on diversity and inclusion, but I also understand employees needing resources to continue looking for work in the temperamental industry that is video games should their last job not work out for whatever reason

I’ve been seeing a lot of “Social Impact Manager”, “Program Manager: Player Ops”, “Sustainability Manager”, etc. job listings from Riot from my open job alerts (I’m in a similar field). I knew they were looking to rebrand out of their lawsuit, and this makes me feel like they’re honestly looking to do so.

I’ve been a skeptic. But even I am starting to get won over. Maybe this is how you turn a company with this kind of issues around.

Blizz maybe should be taking notes instead of firing contractors.

I keep thinking about this. There can never be more. No DLC or sequel, let alone replay, could ever be what Outer Wilds was. It’s this perfect thing that I can never have again.

This game is so good that I wish I could re-live it over and over, but with no memory of it from my previous play.
