Yeah. I did not feel compelled to finish Three Houses at all, even if the story is pretty good (I read it online after I gave it up). Even Awakening I had to soldier on to finish, because the tactical gameplay felt very lacking.

I agree that they need to adapt to the digital age and find new revenue streams, but I think that this is not the way to go about it, and that the idea of not having a revenue split is just leaving money on the table is overly simplistic.

This kind of reminds me of playing MTG (and a few years later Pokemon TCG) as a kid in the mid-1990s. I maybe got a premade deck as a birthday gift, or something, then had to scrounge some pocket money for boosters, but had neither that much access to a secondary market in my country, nor the funds to meaningfully enga

I agree with the sentiment in general, but I think the blind spot here is that expression is fun, too. I greatly enjoy customization and unlocking cosmetic stuff in games, and always have. Blizzard had the option of making a game in which customization and expression are joyful, fun parts of the game, but instead they

Replying just to let you know they updated the story. If Jason Schreier’s reporting is accurate - and it usually is - it does seem like Taylor isn’t being 100% honest. It may not be what she considers fair for her work, but at the very least $ 750~1k per hour does not seem like an “insulting” offer for VA work.

I mostly agree with the sentiment, but this is not just sub-par. They had a mostly solid, if flawed game that they essentially stopped supporting a couple years in, killing the buzz around it. Only to then launch a glorified update patch that introduces a whole truckload of bugs. Meaning: I paid for a live service

I think you mispelled “billions and billions” =D

Hardy Har. Take my star.

After round 3 - when the delay was implemented - he didn’t get a single win, after going 2 wins, one tie, including beating Carlsen on black. This proves nothing, of course, but it does nothing to dispel suspicion either.

Yeah, saying “most” of them are “original designs” is reeeaaally stretching it. Even when they are edited, it’s very hard to call it original. Like, one of the battles in the first video is straight up a Groudon with a fur collar vs a Diancie with a more purplish skin.

The world was built into that. The original was far less bombastic and grounded.

I hated Telling Lies, but Her Story was pretty good. Will likely skip this one.

Man, Ogre Battle 64 was probably my favorite game growing up. The fact it barely sold a quarter million copies is just criminal.

Yeah, you’re kinda right. Although I will say that the parallel would be more accurate if the idiot bought one of everything and, because he bought everything, it all turned to dust. =P

Yeah, I get that. But, well, pretty much everything is written by individuals (some media companies are messing around with automatic text collation), and Kotaku does have an editorial structure. So this had to be approved at some point, and, even if the editor doesn’t agree 100%, they still had to stamp it.

I just mean them saying this game is not anevil, money-sucking monster”.

Just wanted to point out how this aged like milk under the sun:

See, you’re not even countering the argument I made. Also, going by your so-called objective definition of “arbitrary prejudice against someone based on an inherent characteristic”, depicting rice paddy hats is not racist, right? A hat is not an inherent characteristic of Eastern Asian people (not only have I never

The fallacy was in assuming the arguments you laid down in your later post was obvious, I think. It was not obvious, but it is good!

I’d like to point out that the implication for unintentional racism was in the article, it’s not mine. And, answering your question, yes, unintentional racism should definitely be called out. What I’m saying is that the depiction of Asian people in Stray does not demoralize, dehumanize or humiliate Asians in any way
