Yeah I feel the same way. People see Squareenix and assume it’s an rpg. You can level up and equip stuff in just about everything these days. Is Assassin’s Creed Origins an RPG? It’s probably moreso than Nier!

I know Dice is more about western developers, but it’s a real shame.

Am I the only one that sees Nier as an action game with rpg elements? I’m glad it got recognized, but I feel like Persona was more fitting for this category. If anything I’d give story and music to Nier.

If they somehow made a “controller users” mode or maybe just regular lobbies where people didn’t lie about it....that might be enough for me. I just don’t stick with keyboard/mouse games for very long. :/

The game’s not lying. I can play some good matches of Street Fighter with platinum ranked people, but I’ll always be stuck in Ultra Bronze in ranked.

I felt the same way immediately after seeing the reveal trailer at E3 last year. The original lighting (and even the lower framerate) gave the game a dreamlike and mysterious feel to it. Watching the footage, the game looks really nice, but it’s doesn’t evoke the same response I had back when I played the original.

I’m worried I won’t know what the hell is going on as I haven’t played one of these since II. But even back then I didn’t really know...so I guess it’s okay?

Let’s not forget that Marvel 3 was originally not going to be at EVO last year. If the last couple years are any indication, we could have a vote to get MVCI into EVO.
