WWI was largely fought in trenches along Belgium and Northern France. Germany was the invading power. And when they were defeated, their territories didn’t become Allied property. It seems pretty clear who the good guys and the bad guys were from a macro level.

Lindelof using Watchmen as a platform to tell a black story (and hiring black writers and I think directors too to tell it) is one of the bravest things I’ve seen from a white Hollywood guy in a long time, too.

Great example of dramatically under-praising an episode because of the subject matter. White conservatives are the most predictable people on the planet when it comes to what they’ll write-off as bullshit because it causes them to realize how racist they actually are.
