I commend you for stifling your pedantic nerd instincts and trying to enjoy this show as its own entity despite your knowledge of the books. The WoT subreddits need more people like you.

I’m loving how you thought they were literally leashed when you read those books.
It’s kin to an unbirthday. BTW, happy unbirthday.
... polyamory is a-ok but only if its one guy with multiple women, etc.
9. One or all of them realizing that their dad was the emperor, but also a complete manipulative asshole incapable of properly loving his own children, that they’re lust to be the emperor was turning them into the same type of person and that they and their loved ones would be better off if they cashed out their…
This. I think Roman was motivated by making daddy proud. Kendall and Shiv were motivating by proving to daddy and by extension everyone else who doubted them, that they were capable of being daddy.
If people still don’t realize that all three of them are empty suits after Roman’s final soliloquy, then there’s no hope for them now.
Matsson literally made it clear to Tom that his role would be as a scapegoat to take the heat for whatever fuckery Matsson decides to try behind the scenes.
That’s how I read it. Shiv deciding “If I can’t have it, you can’t either, because you’re even worse than me.”
What makes them idiots is seeing the only path to success and happiness as becoming daddy’s rightful heir.
This is how I’m trying to understand the showrunner’s assertion that this was a tragedy. It’s more like a dream for 99.999% of the world’s population disguised as a tragedy for 3 entitled assholes.
The theme I’ve had through this series is me thinking: “Cash out and remove yourself from all this unnecessary backstabbing and abuse you idiots.”
He also apparently beat a cocaine addiction that had him leaving rails on his kids’ ipads by.... getting back into drinking and cocaine. I guess the plot needed him to not have a cocaine addiction.
No. The automated message implied she dialled a wrong number not that she was blocked from that number. If she was blocked, she’d have a much better excuse for lying to Kendall than the one she offered.
France is not a parliamentary democracy, they have a Republic like the US.
I don’t buy her political altruism either. Ultimately she’s motivated by the same things her brothers are - greed for power and wealth.
There was a point in season 3 where Kendall thought he was being offered a $2B buyout for his Waystar shares - 2 billion dollars to fuck off and do whatever he wants with his life - and he was torn about it.
“Silence is golden.... just how golden, like, is there an offer here?”
The first glimpse we got of Roman was him offering the servant family a million dollar cheque if their kid hit a home run, and then making a point of ripping it up in front of their faces when that didn’t happen.
Greg the Egg is a great example. At the start of the series he’d been fired from a theme park job he got because his uncle is the CEO for getting high on the job and puking out the eyeholes of his mascot costume. He shows up at a family function asking for a real job with the family company and continually fails…
