What I'm "railing against" is that a meme is being perpetuated that actually runs counter to real data.

Because people pay attention to comedians more than they do actual statistics. I'm not taking it as a claim of anything, but people repost this clip endlessly saying "oh, how true." but it's not.

The trouble is that it exaggerates one threat while effectively dismissing a much greater threat. This isn't trivial. I know far more women whose lives have been cut short by heart disease than male violence.

Actually, from what i've read in cases of same-sex abuse it isn't always the larger or more physically imposing person doing the abuse.

Thing is, yhowever, I have encountered plenty of people who sort of believe this unironically, not necessarily on a "let's round em up" level but on a level of "testosterone is a poison" (although I believe both sexes have the hormone)

IMHO satire is very, very hard to pull off.

Too bad he's wrong.

he's actually Gen X.

There was a lot about Jem that was Badass to a young little mind like mine, and I'm really sick of people saying "lighten up it's Jem" because she was important to me. No one would say that about GI Joe. "

Just wa

Fucking Badger.

Thus making it a total Mary Suetopia.

Marry me.
