Actually, no it didn't. The MBP and desktop had the same speed HD.

And wait till you hear what happens when you put on some real high end iem's. Finding that perfect sound is a never ending moneypit, as I'm sure you know already. :)

Imagine the performance increase you'll get if you pick up a new Macbook Pro. As you've come to realize, their computers are top notch and worth every penny.

Just realized my original response to you is over 2 years old...haha.
Since then, my laptop has fallen out of an airplane (granted we were standing still on the

Good lord. A volvo that actually looks sexy? Where's that "take my money" meme?

With you on this. Not really diggin' it too much. Prefer the old home screen.

Just installed mine. U sure about that?

Indeed it is. Both going in and going out...

From what I understand (and I've just recently learned of this), bluetooth technology hasn't achieved a level of streaming quality that is good enough for high end speaker companies like say B&W to warrant implementing it. I believe wi-fi has a higher bitrate and range so, from what I gather, higher end speaker

I haven't had an opportunity to listen to either, honestly, but from my experience on hearing similarly priced speakers that friends have purchased, I haven't been impressed. On the other hand, from what I've been reading, they are a decent value for what you pay - so there's that.

I'll be very frank about this - most sound systems at the price point you're inquiring about are going to sound absolutely terrible. You can always do a search on Amazon for all in one systems in the price range that you're looking for, and hope for the best. Monoprice also has a cheaper 5.1 system that got a decent

I gotta tell ya, those RHM's restored my faith in cheap IEM's ... tried a few others, including some higher priced sony's and for the most part I've hated all of them. Got my RHM's in a few days ago, and WOW... not too shabby for $12. I need to road test them quite a bit more, but on first and second listen at the

Just curious, which "theatre-in-a-box" systems do you own that sound that great? I've heard a few at friends' homes that are just god-awful. I could never fathom making such a switch. Not that my gear is uber high-end, but still.

Yes. That forum is a great resource. It's also a great waste of time (if you get addicted to reading it, like me) and a horrible influence on your bank account (if you end up spending thousands on headphones like I have).

If you have some time to kill, I would highly recommend checking out this forum: www.head-fi.org. I've spent countless amounts of time and money thanks to them, but my ears, mind, soul are happy for having done so.

Smart. I would never have thought of that. Will keep that in mind in case I get caught up in some Ebay Fraud.

well that explains it!

Ah, I see. Well in your situation, it makes perfect sense to get numerous fake ones.
Lucky you!

Curious, what system are you using? I've recently purchased a Belkin bluetooth receiver, and it sucks. Was considering upgrading to the HiDef version of it, but I'm hesitant...

Wouldn't you be better off just buying an authentic one that lasts you twice as long?

I made the mistake of buying a $25 MBP charger - broke in 7-8 months. I should have just spend the extra $15 or so buying a proper charger. Lesson learned.
