I know this is super late, but I switched to Pocket Casts very recently and absolutely love it. Was on Doggcatcher previously, it's also good, but Pocket Casts is a cleaner interface and syncs between devices.

Even in trying to be contrite and transparent this asshole can't pull off either. He owes an explanation of what was said in the Rice interview that was inconsistent. But even beyond that, this:

"What exactly were they supposed to do when there was no public outcry and the victim refused to be treated as such? They went with their protocol. Once there was a public outcry, they reacted accordingly."

When's the last time you saw US law enforcement admit a mistake? Even one that small.

he's just saying that he will probably discipline her, certainly won't do so in a way meant to leave marks, and doesn't claim to have hit her yet... he's just doing it all with really horribly formed sentences.

I can't even figure out how to adequately compliment this. It really is my favorite internet comment ever.

This appears to predate Rice's case and is just surfacing now.

Not any more. There are actually a few white running backs now too.

Sometimes it feels like you like to play the old "FIRST" game on your own posts.

Dwyer's probably just honored to be mentioned in the same conversations as great running backs like Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, OJ Simpson, Jim Brown...

Agreed. 100%. And, since I've graduated, we've even added the "corporations are people (except when it comes to paying tax on international income or matters of criminal liability), friend" doctrine.

Raysism: how far can he punt a child?

I don't think the facts of the abuse are in dispute in either case though. Particularly in the newer one (first one to become public news, but that happened more recently — the 2nd case referred to here looks to be about a year old). Peterson acknowledged hitting the kid with a stick, including the cut on his

There's just as much argument that if it was a third stringer we would have never heard about the abuse — since that's kind of the default in the US. When wives and kids are beaten most of the time no one does anything.

Yeah, he only had pain killer addictions and mistresses. And that literally qualifies him to be the namesake for the NFL's man of the year award.

This is a pretty impressive run on one article.

Did you spell "their" wrong just to show us that you, too, make mistakes? Very meta.

I know it doesn't make it excusable, but AP didn't think it it was wrong so it's pretty obvious that it won't be an isolated incident.

Not true. A ton of us are bitching about league leadership too!

How can you end your rant with "social media arm chair lawyering needs to stop" when you start it with a bunch of legal conclusions?
