This is kind of ironic, what with Sony's "take a running jump" ad and the one with a crown of thorns made up of the ps buttons...

I have a feeling it's just a result of the simplified menu and not Apple "censoring" content. Apple did donate $100,000 to fight prop 8, after all. The Wii is missing these categories, too.

@blash: What SSGtTEX said. Plus you can't stream media from any iOS device like Apple TV can. And maybe you don't have an iOS device so this doesn't pertain to you, but a LOT of people do and it's a huge perk. I can't wait to be able to throw anything from my iPod or iPhone to my TV. I can be watching a YouTube video

@drstein: Ah, my mistake. My point still stands, though. The AppleTV interface is really nice and being able to control it with any iOS device with multitouch controls and an onscreen qwerty keyboard is really nice. I think the Apple TV is a worthy competitor to Roku

@ThePr1nce: Exactly! Apple doesn't give out features when they think they might not work smoothly. People get so upset when they see a device can only do said number and there's another device that can do higher said number without even thinking about the actual benefits.

@rebann: I think a lot of companies simply do this because they figure most people have an hdmi cable lying around. It's hardly a big deal, you can get one on amazon for $3 or maybe even less.

@reuthermonkey: There's more to life than specs... Have you seen the thing in action? It's so fast! And the interface is georgeous. Netflix on Roku is god awful and you know it. You can't even search. Specs don't always create a good user experience. Also, most content isn't even available in anything above 720p and

@johnhmeyer123: This thing is finally getting good. I too used it for a second and then was like, "wait... i need to go into the store to use this thing??"

@vinterchaos: Huh? Where are all the 7" iPad believers?

@MazdaMania: When you don't care about things like heated steering wheels and backlit keyboards, sure. But some people are willing to pay a premium for things like that.

@pj_rage: When I first got my iPad I only had an iPod Touch and I stopped using the iPod pretty much entirely. The iPad destroyed it in every way aside from being a PMP. Then I got an iPhone 4 and I will admit I'm using the iPad much less, partially because my iphone is always in my pocket, but mainly because it feels

Does it feel faster? And does Safari still have to reload pages? That drives me crazy.

why hasn't anyone thought of this?

@♥ Goopplesoft Now: Like Brian said, they're different products. It's kind of silly to compare them.

hotkeys, or as a female friend refers to them, quick buttons.

THANK GOD

@TheAlmeida: With a relatively simple idea that doesn't have a crazy amount of features. It's just well focused ideas that are carefully implemented. They are a very impressive company.

@davidgreen360: The big difference is you can't stream from a mobile device like an iPod or iPad or iPhone, something that most people have at least one of. AirPlay makes that possible.

@SAfiftyseven: Yeah, it really takes away from how cool the iMac looks... But I guess it's going in the right direction? sorta? i mean i would love some sort of docking station for my iPhone/iPad
