Yep, I'm restricted to over 500,000 apps and counting.

It is? But Windows doesn't have an App Store like the Mac does.

I think that's where OS X Lion comes in. By default, app installations will work like it does on iOS; nothing comes through unless it's through the app store. So the not so savvy people who download things like malware will have that option on, and the more tech-savvy people will be able to turn it off if they so

See, that's where I think your inaccurate depiction of Firewire stems from. The Mac market might be smaller than Windows, but it's still an enormous market. You never used it, so you consider Firewire to be a flop of some sort, but you also never used the platform it was most popular on.

I don't think it's fair to say Firewire didn't work out in the long run. It actually had a very good, long run.

I prefer the parody that depicts how Google Glass will actually work.

"...tablets have made their way into tens of millions of homes, and they've done it seemingly overnight."

That 300 PPI figure is for phones, which you hold closer to your face than a tablet computer. It's really defined by the user not being able to discern pixels when being held the normal distance away from their face.

Haha, this is true. Some of those MacBook Air clones are just sad.

I'm wondering how these people aren't also noticing the computer they are using looks nothing like a Mac and doesn't have an Apple logo on it like ever Apple product under the sun... I'm going to say he's just lying.

He just mentioned "I can use the high powered applications from my desktop which has more power than a laptop could hope to have."

Because it's extremely expensive, and I actually don't think it even exists. But Macs are the next step. Give them a little slack! iPad only just recently got a retina display and I think that was a pretty insane engineering feat on its own considering no one else has done it yet.

I'm sure they will once there's a decent selection of good music apps for Android and Windows Phone. iOS (specifically iPad) supports a mind-boggling amount of extremely powerful audio apps.

Or because the movie you're buying takes up no physical or virtual space, is indestructible (since Apple backs it up), can't be lost, and can be streamed to any of your devices, wherever you are. It's even close to the quality of blu ray on top of all of that.

You stream them from iTunes. Once you buy them, you own an indestructible copy of the movie that takes up no space and can never be taken away from you, damaged, or lost.

I agree that the Mini serves as a great entertainment center, but it's important to remember the $600 difference.

I think I can field this one.

According to this chart, iPad 3 should feel fine.

Closed at $601 today. Funny going back to old comments.

There don't have to be 0 PCs for the traditional PC world to be slipping away. We are entering a paradigm shift, where people want simple lightweight computers that have been redesigned with our current uses in mind. That doesn't mean there won't be traditional PCs. That means those will be left for rare heavy duty
