IGNORE!!! Their Kinja name is “TrustFundArtist”. DON’T ENGAGE THE TROLL. Trust me, I really want to rip this person a new asshole (while I flip my hair with it’s sorbet colored tips at the age of 30), but it’s only Wednesday and I’m like:

At first, I thought this was some stupid teenager. I’m not thinking it might actually be Arctander or one of his friends. In that case, I think we should totally let him know how talentless he must be, if he has to take someone else’s images almost entirely.
Yep. You’re a defining member of one of the many corral groups for stupid people. Cheers to you.
Gawd, what is up with the commentariat here being so freaking hostile towards young artists? Did your parents burn your drawings and force you to go to business school or something? It’s like you’re all a less likable version of Steff from Pretty in Pink.
High school is out, and for some reason, this troll above us isn’t in the grey. I am, but the teenage troll isn’t. Great.
I think about the contrast between this and music - The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” which had a small sample of a Rolling Stones song in it. They negotiated and had permission to use it, but after the song became a hit, the copyright holder sued claiming they used a larger sample than permitted, which they deny.…
Are you talking about the cringeworthy explanation of their Psychic friendship?
‘I am mentally unstable and easily triggered’ Starter Kit™!
That was a weird logical leap.
The trolls have certainly shown up in force to this article already. Ugh. Fuck them, and fuck lazy thiefs like Zak Arctander, Richard Prince, and so many others.
The theft is appalling but I’m really turned off by the “cool art kids” opener to this post. Most everything that comes after is intelligently written and the beginning seems even worse by comparison.
Can a lawyer get in on this and explain? I keep thinking of music copyright and how musicians almost always lose copyright infringement cases (except with “Blurred Lines,” for now). How is this different? Does the law distinguish between the different artistic mediums? Thanks in advance.
My hair is the strawberry blond I was born with. So I’m not sure who you are talking to. Me or the author. Insulting women based on their fashion choices is immature and lame.
How about you go and fuck yourself?
I am an artist, and this fills me with frothing rage. That work that this lowlife ripped off was someone’s sweat and blood. Art is not easy, and it is not cheap, either in money or in time, focus, and attention. You do not fuck with someone’s art.
Kewl asshat can’t defend the mysogonistic practices and highlighted in this article but wants to be sure their hate and fear of and for women shines through so insults appearance. In a super lame way.
Actually the real story here is that it’s not “the town” to blame. “The town” knew that something terrible was happening. The real story is “the police” didn’t want to do their fucking jobs because hey, they were only prostitutes.
