Airport x-ray scanners will go straight through aluminium foil.

On a serious note, jokes like those might be a reason there aren’t many females in engineering classes.

Hey, let’s not take issue with owning multiple cars! I mean, you can’t drive them all at once, right?

Yeah, eating dates.

I feel like you must have some inside knowledge of how universities operate...

Right you (both) are! How did I miss that?!

This ALON stuff is pretty neat - thanks for pointing it out!

Well, kind of. Calling sapphire “aluminium” is like calling rust “iron”.

But! Pure aluminium *can* actually be made transparent if you shine enough light on it (https://www.nature.com/articles/nphys1341). The only downside is that it a) requires a km-long particle accelerator, and b) evaporates the material in the

Anyone else here keen to try Lada-frozen-lake-drifting?

In Denmark:
0-1.2L: “small”
1.2-2L: “medium”
2+L: “big
3+L: “supercar?”

This is the right answer, IMO. I had the same criteria and bought a V50 (I live in Denmark where cars are hella expensive). It had depreciated so sharply that it cost the same as a Skoda Octavia of the same age and mileage. These things regularly get 300k+ km on them and are pretty comfortable. How can you go wrong?!

Suzuki made a motorcycle called the Gladius!

Oh man, I really miss Danger 5... :-(

Some of this abuse is a little unfair.

As much as I love sideways E21's, I don’t imagine they’d be a very practical place to go screw in.

I always wished they’d make a high performance version called the “R-Soul”...

These are some good ideas, but I believe yours is the real winner. It just doesn’t get any better than a white 80's supercar!

Citroen Cactus. I have to make sure I know someone really well before I tell them that I want one.

Wow someone should buy it an turn it into a trackday car...

Like, it’s just not that hard, right?!

I think this was one of the best NPOCP I’ve read in ages (even though they’re all good). Thanks!
