I have NO beef with this concept. We have a list of needs to be met, and we want someone to meet those needs. Knowing yourself well enough to define what that should look like is fine.

Seanan McGuire has an urban fantasy faery series set in the Bay Area. (October Daye). One of the main knowes is in Muir Woods, another one is at a local museum. The whole Bay Area features prominently. It’s a fabulous and engaging series. I highly recommend it.
