Yup. Its not the number or rate of fires, it is how to deal with the fire after it starts. A gas fire is damn bad, but is controllable by household means (you can use a fire extinguisher if caught early enough). A electric fire is impossible for you, or even your local fire department, to control without completely

The Tesla can burn faster but the Porsche can repeat the inferno 10 times in a row.

Next on Tavarish’s channel:

The Tesluminati are part of a cult and it will not end well for us mere mortals.

Come on Tesluminati where are you? Thought you’d all be going wild in the comments about this.

Congratulations Porsche for designing a car that will appeal to both Tesla and Ferrari owners

Elon showed them the way...

Electrek says it happened in Florida on Sunday.

I’m gonna wager that the charger system had the issue.  Probably a power surge or something.

While probably true, I think there are other elements to electric car fires that are worthy of media coverage. ICE cars don’t tend to catch on fire when off and parked. While rare, the possibility of a car burning my house down while I’m asleep is terrifying. That’s compounded by the issue that the fires are close to

Early reports say a South African man in his late 40's was seen fleeing the scene carrying a gas can and jumping in to what witnesses called “a cartoon truck”.

Our cars burn faster, hotter and much more efficiently!

The Tesla fanboys on the Tesla Owners FB page are going nuts about this right now. “Hur hur why isn’t the media covering this, if it was a Tesla it’d be front page news, Musk for president,” etc etc.  Can’t we just appreciate that there are nice EV cars that aren’t Teslas and move on?

They’re really taking their competition with Tesla seriously.

Agreed, the issue with EV isn’t so much range, but more the charging times. 30 minutes is unacceptable.

Two hours extra though, that is not good. Eight hours driving is one thing, ten hours on the road is another. That recharge time has got to come down, it cannot be as long as thirty minutes with a supercharger. It has to be five minutes, maybe ten tops.

Coupes!

As far as I can tell overlanding is just car camping for people who drive ridiculously outfitted SUVs at about 25% of their capability. Parking their lifted, light barred, Tacoma with a tent mounted on top next to the family of 4's Sienna at the local KOA.
