...winding up?
Yeah, it scans to me as “these kinds of jokes would absolutely bomb because they’re actually not funny” but seems like kind of a gray area to attribute to an AI. You’d probably prefer it just doesn’t wade into those waters at all unless it can much more confidently stick the landing.
Honestly, that bit comes off almost like an insightful joke about how washed-up aging comedians try to stay relevant in 2023. “No one is laughing at my jokes. Maybe I should try saying hateful bullshit about trans people and liberals.” Just replace Jerry with Dave Chapelle or Louis CK and you’ve practically got a…
I may be using this term incorrectly, but that seems like a “meta” joke to me; a joke about how bad those ideas are for a joke.
Maybe AI isn’t that advanced yet. I don’t even know if I understand the concept of “meta” humor.
Is it just me, or did it sound like the AI was almost riffing on transphobic comedians? “No one was laughing.” Like it was pointing out that that shit isn’t funny.
They are famous because people enjoy watching them play video games. Not because they play video games.
So it does use MMR, but it uses an aggregate across the whole team. And since the match range is pretty broad (I think you can be two whole ranks apart in a match, so a bronze player can be in an aggregate “gold match” with a platinum player on the other team) you get some huge swings. I’m in between high gold and low…
What do you think it means for something to be held together by metaphorical duct tape???
Whether or not the price hike is justified the dev of Factorio is a psychopath.
It seems pretty simple to me. Seems like $30 is too high of a price point for this particular game to them, and if they are never going to put it on sale then it will never be at a price low enough for them to think it is worth picking up.
No, I think I understand their point. The demand curve for any normal good is a slope; demand goes up as price goes down. They’ve decided that the revenue under the long tail of the curve isn’t worth their time.
My roster of unplayed games (you call it a backlog, I call it a retirement plan) is in triple digits. I’ve bought exactly two of those games at full price.
You really gave those imaginary people in your head hell today. Go ahead and take the rest of the day off. You must be exhausted. I know I am!
what the hell is even this
My dude, I don’t think you’re fully appreciating the difference here. Yes, chat-bots are nothing new, but the ones of old were largely programmed by hand. The recent ones used machine learning, where the A.I trains itself on real human sentences. The results are eerily life-like, leagues ahead of the chat-bots from…
I think there’s a middle ground between “militantly telling other people what to do” and “total nihilism because nothing you do matters”.
This is by far the smartest way of doing it. It makes the collector’s editions platform agnostic. This eliminates instances where you want the collector’s edition but the only one they have in stock is for a platform you don’t own.
This may be the most baffling post I have ever seen. How is it more an RPG than Elden Ring?
I bounced off of FFTA, and I don’t think it was just because of the kiddy aesthetic. It’s also just mechanically different in a lot of ways that some folks don’t enjoy. Also after going back to it a few weeks ago, I’m not a fan of the interface.
