Agree with you on ‘the sequence’ mostly. One tongue-in-cheek observation though. Star City has the most complete CCCTV coverage to be found, literally every possible angle covered. Just like it was a TV set and not a real city! What? Oh ...
Nailed it.
Sweet mother of swearing Jesus, watching that episode was torture! Look, I love the Berlantiverse, that’s why I’m here, ranting. The miracle of the loaves and mustard couldn’t cover this ham. Please God, give me drink so I might forget this awful, awful episode.
It was a short episode all right. We get Discovery on Netflix in the UK. I skipped the recap and the opening credits (to me the theme music is meh) and then I glanced at the remaining running time Thirty-two minutes!?! One really does wonder what was cut and why.
Is it just me or is it everybody who’s thinking, ‘Damn, Michael Emerson would have been soooo much better as The Thinker on The Flash than A.N. Other actor was’?
As said on Facebook:
Cheryl Blossom’s Mom is the Miss Kitty of Riverdale? Well of course!
Who the heck is Kevin? In the dock, Marlize says “I was alone with Kevin” - not Clifford ; “most of the time.” I heard that and thought, ‘Aha! THIS is how clever Cecile will catch her out!’ Nope, must have just been an *ahem* acting problem.
Right with you on your review. “Oh, so we’re going there again?” I’ll tell you what i would have loved. Rather than Rene being the stoolie (which makes no sense as he doesn’t even have a job if Oliver is in jail), what if it had been Not Laurel? Would not her DNA be an absolute match for Dead Laurel? What a great…
I really enjoyed the episode, but that’s okay, people can have differing opinions. One thing I’m surprised you didn’t point out though is how great the casting was of young Kara and especially young Alex. I truly thought at times, “Is this the greatest use of CGI ever!?!” Every little facial gesture was spot on.…
Doctor Mork?
They couldn’t figure out a way for Amunet to escape? Damn. This was so close to a perfect episode. Just have her use her magnetism to shoot up to the magnet, or throw a door at Barry’s Angels, something! Still, they’re getting the comedy blend right now so that’s a big plus from me.
Now THAT’S how you do a comic book story that actually means something. For my money that was the best-ever Supergirl episode. Seems like the whole Berlantiverse has really raised it game this year.
The Good Place is the first sitcom since Fawlty Towers to create episode after episode of unfailingly bright, original comedy built on its core characters. Every half hour a gem. Every half hour familiar yet original. This show will end up in a TV Hall of Fame.
A - Wait. What? Really? I’ll never ever tell someone they’re wrong to like something but ... really? I saw incredibly forced humour, a complete lack of logic (tell me again why exactly Rebecca Sharpe is locked up in Iron Heights) and way too many hot shoot moments - bye Wally! hi baby! let’s have a wedding! I love…
In its whole, lovable, whacky way Legends of Tomorrow is the closest thing to the original Batman series of the 1960s you’ll ever find. It’s just short of the ZAP! POW! URRGGGHH! title cards during fight sequences. But that’s what is great about it. Of all the Arrowverse shows, LoT is the most comfortable in its own…
Well that was all, um, frantic. I know they want to lighten the tone, but they don’t have to whack us over the head with tickle-foam shovels. Just, you know, ease into things a bit or every character on the show seems high on nitrous oxide.
I used the main search engine on the home page. Wrote in “You’re the Worst.” It said, “No entries found.” Yeah, this Kinja thing is fine, just fine.
That may be my favourite BTL comment anywhere, anytime.
