I was quite surprised they showed Neil’s initial temper/attack on Allison in sitcom world! What if Kevin had walked in then instead of Patty?

I’m very much hoping that the opening scene didn’t imply that she’s the one who dies! And that it does imply that she dumps Shane!

Another option is that she might also be rich/not bad off, but she’s also a non-white person: there’s a level of obliviousness that no amount of money or status in this world can cause if you’re not also white/within the majority. Quite sure she’s had her share of macro and microaggressions, particularly in a circle

I am loving how specific these characters are - like, yes, they are heightened caricatures in some ways, but never once do they do something that feels like it was shoehorned in just for a laugh/plot device, as you see in weaker shows.

Things could get a lot worse. They mentioned it last season, but relegation can destroy teams—basically the fact that all the characters are still around is a) TV magic, and b) a sign of the faith everyone has in Ted. But it can’t last forever, and ultimately while it’s great that coaching turns people into better

That’s probably something hard to simulate without actually, you know, doing it.

I only saw Baby Jane about seven or eight years ago, but I would have understood the reference my entire adult life.

Nothing on the BLM mixup?!?

Sympathy towards Armond’s addiction and relapse is definitely justified, but I do think some of his actions are pretty villainous here. Namely, his behaviour around Dillion. I guess it kind of worked out because he was into it, but there is no world in which coming on to your employee that aggressively in a

The last episode was really “Netflix school of having the show become real interesting in the last 5 minutes” which is baffling when you have no idea if you’re gonna get picked up for a second season. But intriguing enough, I guess. I hope they won’t turn Neil into a full-blown villain, I mean he’s kinda right in

I get where you’re coming from but I think it’s pretty well stated that his father’s incessant badgering turned it from something he loved to something he hated. I don’t know how this gets fixed by going back to Richmond, but Ted has made the place quite a bit more touchy-feely, so perhaps he thinks he’ll scoop up

I’m surprised no one mentioned Ted’s masterful bit of passive aggression wherein he compares his video game “addiction” to Dr. Fieldstone’s sugar “addiction” and concludes that sanctimoniously denying yourself something pleasurable is just another way of failing to control your impulses.

I also just recalled Ted’s reaction whenever someone quits (Jamie pretending to be hurt in S1) or how devastated he was by his divorce where his ex had to tell him he wasn’t “quitting”. There are a lot of angles to Ted’s anxiety that haven’t been explored yet and I think his dad’s death is probably at the center of

He didn’t get to explain why!

Hopefully they won’t go the narrative direction of having Ted have to shoulder the responsibility of keeping the room civil - I’m hoping what we’re leading up to is Sam Obisanya eventually becoming the team captain, and that this addition of Jamie Tartt to the roster is Ted’s way of telling him indirectly, “Look, I

I like this focus on safety. As I wrote, a bit part of the story for me is this idea that Ted knows this is going to create problems, but HE believes that he can keep it from impacting the team dynamic, and so whatever loss of safety is created is in his view temporary. And so it isn’t that he’s abandoning his

The best physical humor in this episode was the rictus-stricken laughing impression by Rebecca, followed by the return of Roy’s awkward angry posture when talking to children (he does a similar move when he leaves with his niece in the first season.) His stiff, arms akimbo way of talking his hilarious.

I feel like he would see the relegation and subsequent struggle as a good hook for a season of stories, and he might just feel like there’s a point where Ted will crash and burn and he wants a front row seat.

I’m sure there’s more people than we realize in her situation-- coming out as NB or trans, but being named in someone else’s honor, and not wanting to feel like you’re disrespecting that person’s memory by changing your name. Which I think is fine. There’s no written rules on how to be trans “correctly”. You do you.

Open to opinions on whether Dani is normally a threesome kind of guy.
