Naomi Judd lived through so much when she was growing up and when raising her kids (I always imagined Dolly and Naomi could have quite the “oh, you think that’s bad? Well when I was a kid...” sessions). I’m so sad to hear of her death (and the assumption, from the statement, that she was in so much pain).

They have property in Austin right on the Drag (the main street outside the UT campus) and I know it’s got to be $$$$.  It probably wasn’t that much when they bought it back in the 90s but I’m sure they’re getting tons of offers from developers or big companies.

That’s because they aren’t allowed to read/listen to any negative talk about Scientology.

Most people aren’t Extremely Online about tv/movies/media.  If I asked my mom what she knows about Elizabeth Moss, her first response would be “who?” and then “oh she was so cute on The West Wing.  Whatever happened to her and Charlie?”

I’d argue that most - if not all - transphobes are showing their ass because of some real self-hatred on their part. To take JKR as an example, her entire argument tends to boil down to “you can like boy stuff and still be a girl.” Even besides the point that there is no such thing as “boy stuff” and “girl stuff,” her

I had convinced my husband to watch S2 of Bridgerton with me on the promise that there would be lots of nudity. We’re four eps in and no one has been naked once (well, i think we got a brief flash of Anthony’s butt)! What the hell, show; I wasn’t tuning in for the violin covers of Robyn songs.

Same.  These stupid mysteries are soothing to me.  I can’t do anything about the anxiety that Russia or COVID are causing me, but I can choose to watch stupid thrillers whose twists are telegraphed a mile away.

There’s a world of difference between changing up a few lines or changing a proposed angle of filming due to some last-minute necessity and, say, up and rewriting a hugely choreographed SWAT team scene that would have already been strenuously blocked and rehearsed the day before filming it.

He was definitely forging pay stubs from the LLD company, as well as business cards and a (presumably spoofed) email address. So if nothing else, those should be criminal charges, I would think.

It is true that no matter how bad Abbot is - and he is so, so very awful - Dan Patrick always manages to be juuuuust that little bit worse.

Abbot Elementary is delightful. It feels like it’s been a few years since a network sitcom actually hit the right notes, but this one’s great. I am enjoying Gregory’s disgust with himself over liking teaching and doing secret gardening.

Granted I have natural gas as well, so things like my oven, water heater, etc aren’t on electricity (other than what it takes to spark the pilot light and run the controls), but for a 2400 sq foot house in which we try to conserve energy use, we pay about 150 during the winter and up to 450 during the summer (per

I mean .. . . if you have stage fright, acting is not the profession for you. I hate being on camera or having people look at me, and I would never choose a job that has those two things as its defining feature.

Granted, I’ve never paid utility bills in any state other than Texas, but our electricity certainly isn’t cheap.

I wonder if it’s Anna herself who courts sympathy or just the fact that her victims are so awful, we want to like Anna for getting one over on them.

Garner’s accent is pretty damn spot-on actually.

Republicans have a carefully controlled communications method of picking one word or phrase (CRT, partial-birth abortion, etc) and absolutely hammering it home in every news appearance or interview for a few weeks. The GOP is incredibly successful at focusing all their attention on one (usually inane) thing at a time

Hudson U is the mouth of the hellhole and yet still, Elliot sent his precious Maureen there.  Tsk.

Nah, most days I can’t even remember my last name.

Yeah. I have all the sympathy for old people or naïve people who get conned because they thought they were helping someone out. But when people get conned because they used their fist of cash to make more fists of cash, wellllll . . .
