The highlight of the season was the octopus. There needed to be more octopus; less almost everything else.

I’m reading it more like he was in contact with this girl for three years after initially making contact with her.

Ridiculously, the Sandwich is in every bit of management training I’ve ever received.  It’s so confusing!  Why can’t you just tell someone, “hey, look, you are fucking up in this very specific way.  A way you can fuck up less is to do This instead.”  People are grown ups.

I feel like the show has missed an opportunity with Irene’s death. One thing that the show hasn’t touched on enough (in my opinion) is how women are pitted against one another in Gilead. What is your breaking limit when it comes to turning on your fellow womankind? Did Irene tell on Emily just because she knew she

IIRC, in the book, all the catholic churches were bombed out or taken over to use as other purposes.

Mea culpa to all the commenters I argued with over the last two months saying that it Definitely Wasn’t Going to be Ryan. (Though the theory that Ryan was the father is dumb and I will die on that sword) You were right; I was wrong, and leave it to Mare of Easttown to leave me crying over how the murderer is going to

Nah, you gotta do the sandwich.  Positive-Negative-Positive.  “I like you a lot.  I’m not romantically interested in you.  You’re such a great person, funny, kind, etc.”  This leaves them confused and that’s always fun.

I love roasting racist white people, but “Local Rich Girl Involved In Southern Pageant With Racist Origins” could describe pretty much any pageant at any time (at any place - I’m pretty sure 90% of pageants are created as paeans to white purity). If she was involved in a krewe at Mardi Gras, we could say the same

Can’t wait for this.  Annie Murphy is going to be such a star.

Goddamn, this was bleak.

Very much agree.

That would be a very, very small 15 year old.  He’s still in elementary/middle school, as shown in the scene in which he beat up the bully who was torturing his sister.  Those kids were middle school, maaaaybe junior high at best, and Ryan didn’t look like the oldest kid there.

Yep, same. College and high school are just such vastly different life experiences that even a small age difference feels like an unbalanced power dynamic. (Also, why do college-aged people want to date kids in high school? They are boring! They can’t go anywhere fun (legally, anyway), they have a curfew, they have

I agree this was one of the better ones of the season.

Siobhan is likely 17ish and therefore the age of consent.  Not that I don’t think it’s creepy anyway.  College-aged people should not be dating high schoolers!

Yeah, that felt like such a neg to me.

Correct.  I’m not sure why everyone keeps saying Ryan is the father.  Ryan is ten now and DJ is maybe 8-10 months?  So Ryan would have been having sex at age 8?  It’s highly unlikely and if it WERE the case, he was unable to consent to any sexual actions at that age.

Carrie was nodding - a classic sign of heroin use. You don’t drop off like that from sheer tiredness - especially when your kid is in the bath. I was so terrified in that moment - begging a fictional tv show not to kill a fictional kid. (I witnessed a young child drowning about ten years ago, and it is still seared in

Now that they’ve announced next season as the last, I think they’re going to have to spend a good deal of time working up to the arc we see in the future.  It’s, what, ten years ahead, yes?  (I’m thinking Deja’s old enough for med school and Kevin’s kids looked like they were around ten)  Where are Miguel and Kate?

She also was very briefly funny (very briefly) on the road to TJ.
