FWIW, I am not a huge fan of Danny McBride myself (full on Danny McBride is not a tolerable state of being for me) and I love this show.  The cast work together so well; John Goodman gets to be his best bombastic self and Danny McBride’s character is really humbled by something he’s done at the beginning of the show,

I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure the writer being co-exec producer is about as good as they’re ever going to get, with reason. Exec producers are people with industry contacts who can source financing and the like.  I highly doubt Margaret Atwood wants to spend her time glad-handing studio people when she can be

Agreed. Fred and Serena just seem like any other bitter couple going through a divorce. Lawrence and Lydia is an interesting mix of True Believer and Cynical Realist that the show attempted to do with Fred and Serena, but could never really commit to.

Yeah, the masks and then zoom part did seem reversed.  I remember struggling with my youngest to hype them up for zoom dance classes in March/April of last year.  We didn’t choose to go back to in-person classes, but when the studio started having them in September or so, they were masked.

I don’t mind couples hitting the rocks when it seems like a reasonable portrayal of the kind of knocks long-term couples take from just being people in the world.  Like, Toby losing his job and feeling really adrift and not knowing how to talk about it + Kate being super excited at her dream job and not being able to

Uncle Nicky’s very cute gesture of buying the twins Godfather and Godfather II onesies made me say “thank god they didn’t have triplets” out loud.

This Is Us has somehow been much better now that it’s hit the later seasons, but I’m glad it’s got an end date.  It’s reliance on dumb mysteries is the worst thing about it, so I’m glad things will wrap up.

The Econowives/their husbands are people in Gilead who have committed no sins (or what Gilead considers a sin, anyway) - but if the Econowives do “sin” in some way (have an affair, separate from their husband, shelter a rogue Handsmaid, work against Gilead, etc), they will generally be turned into Handmaids or

June is basically a walking grenade at this point, for how much everyone near her dies.  It’s becoming ridiculous.  I get that they can’t kill her (at least before she records her memoirs, although we could easily say she recorded them in the Lawrences’ basement) but honestly if she puts Moira’s life in danger too,

Yeah, I agree he definitely wants to be back on top. Whether it’s to implode Gilead from the inside or just because he wants the power again, I’m not sure yet.

The Marriotts are Mormons and, to be fair, I would legit watch a show in which Paris Hilton tried to blend in at the local LDS ward.

Lawrence is a guy who goes the way the wind blows, so long as it’s blowing him to the top of the pile. When he had a chance to look like a rebellious savior with Angel Flight, he was with June. After his wife died, so went most of his motivation for doing the right thing (I also think he had something of a death wish

It’s made pretty clear in this latest episode that he is an addict, yes.

This show was so dumb and yet I am sad.  Michael Sheen was clearly having a blast chewing all the available scenery and everyone else in the cast seemed to get that their job was to just wind him up and watch him go.

Rachel sucks so much.  Every time I remember she’s still a person people see on tv, I get mad all over again.

lkI think it’s more that Freddie is desperate now. He’s already broken into his sister’s house looking for money. What’s tormenting her best friend over her missing, presumed dead, daughter for some quick cash?

I very much agree. To me, the whole Manufactured Drama of shows like Real Housewives and The Bachelor, etc, are just not for me. If I wanted to see boring people get drunk and messy, I could just go down to the local bar. The early seasons of RW had cast members who felt authentic. Even the awful people like Puck and

Yep, I happened to pause that scene; it’s definitely cut up fliers.

I don’t think Freddie knows that Katie is actually alive.  He was trying to get some quick cash; he knows Dawn is desperate for any info, and he knows Katie so could easily pretend like she is alive and telling him things that he already knows.

Yes, that’s Katie’s daughter. One of the things Freddie says on the phone to confirm he knows Katie is saying that Katie’s daughter’s middle name is (whatever it is, Grace, i think.).
