Right. I remember chancing upon my parents’ handcuffs in their bedside table (where I was, naturally, searching for some loose change or whatever other teenage bullshit I thought I could help myself to since the world only existed to serve and/or upset me) and was naturally horrified to learn that A) my parents had

That’s what Mr Mayor has done as well - it’s set in a near future, having just bested COVID. It’s allowed for a few jokes (one character goes around licking street poles, just because he can now) but hasn’t made it A Thing.

Michelle Pfeiffer PLUS that cat looks exactly like my cat, down to the small white patch, so I’m in.

You’ve hit the nail on the head in re: Covid depictions. It adds nothing to the story and no show (that I’ve seen, at least) has managed to do anything with it. It just takes me out of the story and makes me grumble about bad mask-wearing (or non-wearing) protocol. SVU may be the worst at it - everyone wears a mask

How does LW1 know that her son is using the toys? (I mean, I guess there are some average indicators, which are highly disturbing to think about, but couldn’t he just be stealing it to show to his friends on facetime?) Either way, this is peak teenage bullshit, and I guess buying your kid (or allowing them to buy,

I enjoyed it.  Then again, I would watch Queen Latifah read a phone book.

I thought it was a solid episode. The zillow sketch was too true to life and the It Gets Better sketch generated some solid laughs. (Anytime Kate can play down and do that dead-eyed delivery is a win for me.) And I loved the BET sketch.

Agreed that this is the best ep of the lot so far. I laughed out loud several times, and even when there were parts that seemed a bit shoe-horned in (sure, let’s let Jayden talk like a Dickensian street urchin for no reason whatsoever) were funny (Jayden is a very funny Dickensian street urchin).

My main issue with the statement was her saying that if he had been abusive, she wouldn’t have married him. I absolutely get that may be true for her, but it’s not a helpful thing for someone who was married to an abusive person to hear. Often (more than likely), abusers don’t start physically or sexually abusing

I find Emily Hampshire to be delightful.  And if you’re the type of person who follows celebs on Insta, she’s a good one to follow.  During quarantine she had a little virtual talk show with various actor friends of hers to support The Actor’s Fund and it was really fun.

If only the trampoline girls on The Man Show could have felt so free.

There’s plenty of room for silly shows about silly things (which I haven’t seen it, but it looks like Emily in Paris is) while also acknowledging that your silly show isn’t in the same category as an Important Show about Important Things. I mean, for fuck’s sake, Big Bang Theory was nominated when actual good

Absolutely Must See TV, in my book.  It’s rare that a show leaves me breathless, but that one actually did.

But by that rights, like, half of HBO’s crop shouldn’t be nominated over the years.  We’re constantly airing UK productions on cable tv.  And while I’m not privy to the production details on IMDY, I would assume that HBO has some sort of production credit.

If Best Coats were an award, it’d be a shoo-in though.

That advice to men is typically applied when the question is “I work a forty hour a week job and my wife stays home to raise our two kids and do all the household chores and for some reason she won’t fuck me.”  And that advice is solid.

I mean, a quick wikipedia entry tells you about the film. I’d wager that this is more about seeing the parties involved as whole people rather than a story you learn about in history class*.

It in, in this case, less about abundance and more about visibility. For those of us lucky and smart enough to have watched Friday Night Lights when it was on, Plemons will always be Landry (or Lance, take your pick).  But he definitely found himself an audience in Breaking Bad so I would wager the majority of people

You have to wonder what kind of energy Plemons is putting out in the world these days to keep being typecast as a friendly Nazi.

I definitely agree this has been the best one so far. I think the show does best when it can let Moynihan and Hunter just be as weird as they want to be (also, Jayden’s “call my mom! She’s in my phone under Aunt because I just learned the truth” got a solid guffaw out of me). And I enjoyed seeing Gabriella Ruiz but,
