He still wasn’t as good or as valuable as LeBron that year. Or any other.

Hey, remember when this guy won league MVP because everyone was salty about The Decision?

MA! MEATLOAF!
Does that mean I support slavery?
I would like to point out that for a lot of black people, this stuff isn’t history. This is MEMORY. I was born shortly after the Civil Rights Act. My folks got on the back of the bus because you were ORDERED to by law. This racism thing is really not that old.
And if another asshole from the northeast who spends most of his time playing childish games realized he didn’t belong in the White House either we wouldn’t be in this situation.
he’s not wrong though. the amount of dick sucking rivers gets for one championship is obscene.
Davis has one season in the NBA where he both played a lot and was good. He owes every last dime he’s made as a pro to Rivers. Sorry kid, fat and washed up at 29 is a tough spot.
Echolocation.
Actually, he’s a Spur.
“bullshit”
I’m going to be a pedant here. It’s more $ than that, because you haven’t figured in taxes. If a regular person pays $600/mo. for a unit, that comes out of his post tax earnings. You’d have to make at least $800 to clear $600, so it’s more like $25,900.00, or $3,237.50/mo. An average work month is 22 days, so figure…
i’m not saying they’re going to be millionaires playing in the D League, but 8 months of housing covered, easily the most expensive monthly bill someone will have, plus 19.5k, isn’t terrible, though it’s not by any means great
So the league goes from September till April and Kevin mentioned they provide housing during the season. So they have about 4 months to make more money, but they also don’t have offseason housing. If that helps with mathing it out.
but are those players working 40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year? i guess the question is, what do these players need to do to earn the 19,500? if they only play 6 months and have 6 months to do whatever, that situation is entirely different than playing 12 months
$19,500 is the equivalent of making $9.38 an hour at a full-time job. Suffice it to say that is not all that close to a living wage, even outside major metropolitan areas.
Depends on the area and the methodology is poor (IMO it’s more rhetoric than anything). A lot of these teams are not in big metropolises - Sioux Falls has an income per capital of $28,000, so the D-League salaries for the Skyforce is not that out of line. But for some, I mean, Santa Cruz is not a cheap place to live.
Why is Steve Beuerlein featured so prominently in the photo at the top? Wouldn’t it be better to use a picture where Stephen White isn’t a secondary figure and one that doesn’t make me initially think that Steve Beuerlein is being accused of child abuse?
