Ah yeah, workplace health insurance... I hope your baby arrives safely, and having that safety net hopefully will keep at least some stress away. I wish I had advice to give back but I’m sure you (and I) have heard it all before... I try to keep in mind that it’s okay if a job is just a way to get money to do things

I’m glad you got out of that situation and found a great new work environment. Even if less stressful now means more boring.

LOL My friends and I joke about this all the time and it’s increasingly hard to tell if we’re really kidding.

In my fantasy quitting scenario, health insurance worries me the most, with the whole uncertainty about the ACA and all... and I can’t rely on parental insurance either since I’m almost at the cutoff age. I’ve managed to save up quite a bit though, so I at least have some security.

Admittedly, a first world problem: Have you ever felt dissatisfied with your job, even though all things considered things are actually pretty great?

Lol well I am leaving on a long vacation soon so there’s a break coming up for me already... :p

Thank you!!! Yep I’m hoping I won’t need to have that conversation again, but whatever happens will happen.

Yeah, boundary issues have always been a bit of a thing. We’ve been friends since a really young age, so maybe that’s part of it. She used to plan little parties with other friends and tell everyone that I would host in the groupchat so I couldn’t back out without looking like an ass. (I thought I could roll with it

Yeah I was kind of like... okay, you hope my career doesn’t go anywhere so I can drive you places. Gotcha.

She just got a smartphone so she has no more excuses now - if she brings it up even one more time I’ll just end the conversation at that, lol.

I got into a fight of sorts with one of my oldest friends last week and I’m STILL mad about it.

I hope you enjoy going there! I love the FIT exhibits, I always try to check it out whenever I’m visiting. I feel you on the whole spending most of your time in a small area - I’ve lived Philly adjacent my whole life but really only know the center city area (where I spent a lot of time with my family) and a tiny

That sounds really cool! A good way to catch up and also have new experiences together :)

That’s awesome! Yes, any art museum is a really lovely place to just sit and contemplate, especially the Met! I’m glad you had a really great time and get to enjoy more of the city. Have you been to the Frick?

Now playing

What new hobbies have you been getting into lately? Or are thinking of trying out?

My dad’s going in for his prostatectomy next week before Thanksgiving. My sis will be home from school by then so the whole family will be around to cheer him on through recovery :) Thank you guys for your kind words and advice. Fingers crossed that it’ll go well!

Thank you! I’m glad your uncle is doing well after treatment. I’ll keep you guys updated on how things go :)

Yep, definitely! He’s alright, a bit nervous about how the surgery might affect his lifestyle (he does a lot of swimming, biking, long distance running etc) but I’m sure we’ll be in good hands. Right now I’m just really thankful that we live in an area with high quality medical care...

He hasn’t scheduled a date yet, but hopefully early next month - the surgeon won’t be able to do it earlier because my dad’s still healing from the biopsy.

Last SNS I posted about my dad’s sudden prostate cancer diagnosis, with further test results pending. We’re still waiting on one test, but he met with the doctor and surgeon this week and they said that the tumor hadn’t spread very far. He’s going to need a prostatectomy, but things are looking better than they were
