Thank you :) The doctor’s full report won’t be until next week but I’m hoping even if things are as bad or worse than I fear we’ll still have a good amount of time left.

Thank you so much. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m really glad that you found comfort in the support group and that it helped you so much. Maybe it’ll be helpful to ask if he wants me to come with him and my mom on his next visit. Until then, I guess there is nothing to do but wait and try not to think on it for now.

Upsetting news...

For those of you who remember/replied to me and my thread about responding to sexual harrassment in the workplace two weeks ago in SNS - I shared all of your advice with my friend and she was really grateful! She’s still deciding how to proceed with things but I’m hoping that things will work out for her. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m really sorry that you have to go through this, it’s really great that your colleagues are being supportive. Your strategies are great and I hope they are helping along with the support from the people in your life. I also hope that there will be a point soon in your career

Best of luck to you! Hope everything goes smoothly, as much as it can :/

Oh I see! Thanks for the info :)

No worries! It’s definitely hard to put things in perspective when you’re in the middle of it all and feel like you have a responsibility to act one way or another for ‘the greater good’ or something like that. And I totally agree - I wish sexual harassment was taken much more seriously, I feel sometimes we haven’t

That’s great for your friend! I hope her new work environment is much better. Just curious, are free/low cost consultations the norm for employment lawyers or just lawyers who deal with sexual harrassment? It might be a bit presumptuous of me but I just wanted to know more options to suggest to her if she did want to

I’m glad it didn’t have to come to that. >_< I’m hoping you’ve since been able to relocate or at least won’t have to deal with him again.

Also I forgot to say earlier, but I’m really glad that it helped you! I’m sorry that the reason for taking the class was a terrible experience and I hope that you won’t need to use it in the future. :(

I’m not sure if it’s a thing beyond general workplace insurance, which she does have... I’ll definitely bring up the lawyer thing if she wants to talk with me in more depth about it - I’m hoping her therapist has brought it up already, too.

Right. :/ I’m sure she has a lot of conflicting thoughts about what to do about work, but I’m so far away physically that I can only really hope it works out and offer encouragement if she asks for it. We’re both really young and new to working life in general, I really wish that she didn’t have to go through this.

Yep! She might not want to share with me and that’s okay, but I’ll put it out there so she has the option to do so if she feels like it. Hopefully she doesn’t feel it’s too pushy of me...

Thanks! From what she told me she did bring it up to HR but their response was to not fire the offender - the company is quite small and the offender has a big role in their current project. My friend’s boss seems to be understanding of her and treats her well, but the fact that the coworker is STILL there and wasn’t

That’s a good idea. Unfortunately I can’t be with her (she lives in a different state) but I’ll suggest it to her! I’m worried that she might be annoyed if I bring up advice to her if she doesn’t want to talk extensively about it because I’m totally clueless about this, but I’m sure she knows it comes from a good

Thank you! My friend is currently seeing a therapist to work things out while on leave, I’m just worried about her because she was so excited for this job and had great things to say about her coworkers, I never thought that she’d have to experience this. :( (naive, I know)

Thank you so much!

I’ve been a longtime stalker of this blog and not sure anyone will see this but just want to ask because this is something I have no experience with and you all seem like a really great and knowledgeable bunch...
