Look I'm Woody! Howdy, Howdy, Howdy!

Don’t mind me, I’m just rolling around in all this sweet, sweet money I get for negging on NFTs, paid by... paid by... um... you know... the anti-NFT lobby!

I’m sure Disney’s cut of those Marvel titles also eat into profits. And we can only speculate how much of a knock on effect the Avengers flip had on Guardians.

How about a receipt for a link to a photo of a tulip?

To be fair, if you look at the financials for the studios they’re selling, they are barely keeping their heads above water. Eidos Montreal had revenue of nearly $100m in FY 22 but their net profit after expenses was around $650k. Crystal Dynamics fared slightly better, but cost about as much to run and their profit

I can’t believe so many massive companies run by people who make stupid amounts of money could be wrong! Surely they should be the most capable among us? How else could they have made their fortunes??

I was thinking Turnips, but tulips are good.

I am not at all a fan of map voting, and I feel that it’s in direct conflict with the complaint that Infinite does not feature enough maps. When map voting was enabled in previous games, I felt like 90% of the games were played on the same Two maps because people always came voting for the same thing over-and-over.

Now playing

that it wasn’t the game itself that let us hear Wario in full voice for the first time, but an obscure advertisement for the game that ran ahead of its release,

Getting rid of skill jumps doesn't really affect the game that much, other than make it one less thing for people to think about. The biggest issue has always been map design and limited modes. Either they bring back map voting or they need to put more effort in making them.

Conversely, don’t bring it back because it’s a series that is so consistently mistreated that it only really has two or three genuinely good games.

Original Soul Reaver would realistically need something more than just a full remaster. Even with upscaling mods, the game is just really, really ugly at this point.

S-E have a big problem with not understanding how to produce western games at smaller budgets than ‘bonkers-nuts’ (they fathom this with their Japanese studios, for some reason). Meanwhile Embracer basically built itself up out of budget and mid-range titles, which is pretty much exactly where a lot of Eidos and

Squeenix is at that point in their life where they can’t be happy with a decent success, only a giant f@#$ing blockbuster will get them hard. They don’t give a fuck about the players. It’s all Bobby Kotick SHOW ME THE MONEY so I can rub it around my genitals.

Yeah, holy shit.

This is great news. Now we might actually see new Deus Ex, Thief, Sleeping Dogs and Legacy of Kain games. Hell, we might even see a new Anachronox. I assume that THQ Nordic will handle publishing duties for these IPs and studios and they’ve proven to be far less risk averse than other publishers. Now, I doubt all of

Square Enix must have REALLY wanted out of the western game business, because $300 mil for those studios AND the IP is a fucking STEAL

He stopped being a character designer after VI, from VII on Square just commissioned him to do some art for each game for marketing/artbook pieces. Which is to say that his VII art isn’t actual concept art, just commissions based on Nomura’s existing designs.

This just makes me more upset about what we COULD have gotten with Stranger of Paradise, instead of yet another GQ Crew. (Yes, I know you can change their armor, but I ACHE for a game that really leans into Amano’s weird aesthetic.)

It’s a running gag that the adorable annoying mascot character Paimon is emergency food.

And this is why you have Emergency Food.
