Even if you don’t want to play the standalone game, definitely play the demo for the standalone game.

Honestly for me, playing the mod was quite sufficient. After trying the standalone game for a bit, it felt excessive. You get the point well enough with the mod. The initial idea was brilliant but it really feels like beating a dead horse at this point.

The basic playthrough (doing ONE path) is less than 20 minutes.

But really, a non-exhaustive playthrough where you do a lot of the exploring you want to do, go through several paths will take a couple hours. There will still be a lot more to do, but you can take it or leave it at that point
