If the government did not subsidize them BEV would be even more expensive. It’s not even the 7500 tax credit that is the big subsidy for automakers its the ZEV credits. EVs cost more because they are more expensive to build. They are more expensive to build because batteries are expensive.

You could combine this technology easily with a hybrid vehicle for even greater fuel savings.
