If you do listen to The Polly Platt podcast, TCM now has one called The Plot Thickens and Ironically their first run is about Bogdonavich titled I’m Still Here. TCM host Ben Mankiewicz hosts and interviews Bogdonovich and it is interesting hearing the story from both sides. Some things stand out such as Dorothy

I can’t believe that you mentioned the Polly Platt episode of “You Must Remember This” without mentioning TCM’s recently concluded podcast season, “The Plot Thickens: I’m Still Peter Bogdanovich,” which obviously covered some of the same territory. https://theplotthickens.tcm.com/

No idea which viral videos you’re referencing but a significant number of recorded incidents that have gone viral in the last week (IE: Buffalo and Salt Lake City officers pushing old people to the ground) resulted in one or more real, employed police officers being suspended.  So those are real police officers

That’d be George Jackson and/or Donny Osmond.

Reply All episode #158--The Case of the Missing Hit. A mystery about an earworm that may or may not be entirely fabricated. Completely mesmerising from beginning to end.

Couldn’t agree more. It certainly wasn’t perfect, but if Handlen is really as “disappointed and frustrated” about this show as he says, then for the love of Christ could they get someone else to review season 2? Because it seems like he either had expectations that were WAY too high, or else he was just determined to

As opposed to the “snarky derisive comment about an article that presents an opinion you disagree with”, which never seems to go out of fashion around here.

Neither Amanda or Neil have used the words “separation” or “divorce”. Amanda said she was heartbroken, while Neil stated that they were going through a rough patch like many others right now. Both have requested respect and privacy for the sake of their son. Your article is presumptive, inconsiderate and helping to

I mean, that’s super meanspirited and cruel, and reinforces some fun mental health stigmas to boot, but uh. Lawl, I guess. Sick burn, whoever you are, I bet you really helped the healing process for them and their five year old.

How has this not been made into a movie?

You know kids, I lived through the 80s and 90s and they weren’t all that great. In fact much of it fucking sucked.

Its the kinjafication of the AVClub continuing.

I think Zack’s criticisms are valid—I’m not going to sit here and say that killing Picard, mourning his death, and then immediately bringing him back with no lingering consequences made a whole lot of sense—but I think approaching reviews in the way that Zack has for the past few years (with this show and Discovery)

Capricious and harsh. The show’s fantastic, go enjoy it.

I think Handlen’s being overly harsh. It’s fine if he doesn’t like it, but his criticisms have basically come down to “it’s not how I would have done it”, “this is too different from classic Trek” and “this is too similar to classic Trek”.

Are you having a stroke?

I sometimes get the impression that part of him wishes he’d stuck with carpentry so that he wouldn’t keep getting asked what a Force Ghost is.

I don’t know what went down, but this isn’t the first time Jones has been written out of a show causing him to immediately exclaim racism. Strangely, that situation (Sleepy Hollow) is extremely similar to this one. Back then he also played the race card, yet he also was leaving a show with a black lead character and

Jones can both be right for being pissed about being fired and wrong for taking a private conversation from two months ago and using it to publicly shame someone who realistically had nothing to do with him being fired.

Percy Shelley as a writer was all about mankind and the natural world and had an influence on the ideas of non violence (“Mask of Anarchy” in particular)- it’s not only thematically present in his major known works, but the political exploration before his poetry is how he met Mary (as a student and benefactor of her
