Hey, I LIVED that novel. Someday I’ll tell you about it.
First video is of George Hamilton playing Evel in a movie, just in case anyone was wondering why Evel didn’t look like Evel. But jump was real.
About as well as you’d expect.
I attended Sunday school and church (regularly but not voluntarily) until I was 12. Then my Sunday school teacher sent me home with a note, as I was “always asking troublemaking questions, and if he’s not going to believe what he’s told, best he stayed home.”
In Empire, Tie fighters pursue the Falcon away from Cloud City.
Not out of bounds for a fit person, with practice. As a younger man, when I was fit, I could do over five minutes. World record is over twenty minutes, so there’s lots of room to improve.
Wakanda doesn’t do safety railings
You can hook up a sound system and make the bike sound like anything you want - a big V-Twin, a screaming four cylinder, or a herd of buffalo dragging tin cans - Personally, I’d play Wagner’s “ride of the Valkyries”.
Or you can put cards in the spokes like we used to do as kids.
Coincidentally (and on-topic!) I crashed a KZ440 when I was 17.
Didn’t stop me. Musk is a pussy.
(But I’m a big fan of SpaceX, so I’ll give him a pass on this one)
All three of these characters had significant character arcs over the course of the series, they often had large parts of the “B” stories, and at least a few of the “A” stories centered on them.
They all got a lot more screen time and character development than Sulu, Chekov, and Uhura combined.
His face makes my punching hand all itchy.
Where do you think professional athletes come from? They start out as young as this or younger, and spend hours daily practicing, hundreds of days on the road to local, regional, state competitions. Nice and fun if they enjoy it, but how many are there because of their parents unfulfilled dreams of glory, or their…
Actually, I took it the opposite way. Since it indicate that these characters will come back, the question becomes how? And at what cost?
The answer is that Tony and Steve are going to be instrumental in bringing them back, and they are going to pay for it with their lives.
Prediction: both die in the next one.…
I don’t think that this establishes anything new. Political ideologies or beliefs have never been a protected class in civil matters, this case just denied protection based on a false claim of religious discrimination (which IS a protected class)
This doesn’t strike me as anything particularly new from Cameron. Most of his films have had a strong parent/child/family dynamic built in to the story. The Terminator (1&2) had mama Sarah and big daddy T800, Aliens had mama Ripley fighting another mother, True Lies is all about reconnecting with wife and daughter, -…
And the BS is spreading:
I think Donner knew exactly what he was going to get on film. Look at how he framed the shot - that giant mirrored wall wasn’t there by accident. When Chris perfectly acted the role of a man with two halves, Donner was ready to film it.
It’s not all that different from Suicide Squad - none of them were established, either.
Add in a little New York history
On behalf of Canada, I’d like to apologize for your ordeal.
