I had the exact same thing happen in my Elise, though it was the front trans mount that had no bolts holding it to the transmission, and upon accelerating or decelerating, the entire driveline would Smack against the mount that was not attached.

It wasn't perfect. LSS shocks and springs leave a lot to be desired in terms of roll, comfort, and dampening, especially with grippier tires. Nitrons are a good choice.
