Hypogonadism.

Yeah. I'm in agreement. It's clearly a doofusy thing to do; one Deadspin writer used "holiday" in place of "vacation" recently. arghhhh

I think we can all agree that the evolution of "Where's Steve at?" is the fucking worst. YOU DON'T NEED THAT AT, fool!

So your'e saying he could even play in 2022 when the World Cup comes to North Brunswick, NJ. Great!

As much as I want to agree that Olbermann is wrong, there is such thing as language evolving based on the masses usage. There's no committee that decided to get rid of "thou." We just dropped that shit.

Despite my Kinja name, I'm a soccer newb (but definitely hot). Serious question. Tim Howard is 35. Could he play in 2018? I imagine the physical rigors of goalkeeper aren't the same as, for example, striker.

Ah, OK. I get your argument now. Sorry, I was a little slow on the uptake. So you're saying that while Americans use singular, they're wrong, and the British pluralizations are correct so we should be using them? I'd just disagree in principle with that, but at least we're not bickering over facts..

I really encourage you to read an American news/sports site (besides Deadspin and, sometimes, espnfc), and compare it with a British news/sports site. You will find there is a difference between American rules of grammar and British rules of grammar in this instance. I promise you.

It drives me way more crazy than I'm willing to admit. I just want Tim Howard to sit between some digital goalposts and swat away every Greg Howard attempt at sounding British. What drives me even more crazy is how much I really like Greg's work, besides that one bizarre, obnoxious affectation.

HA, yes, left myself open on that one. My greater point was that British language customs pluralize "FIFA" but American language customs do not. You can find this in any British publication vs. American publication.

You seriously think anyone in their right mind could get "Syracuse have to play better defense" past a copy editor? Well, you're wrong, I'm sorry.

No no no no please stop you're hurting America

A single tear of joy ran down my cheek when he said "stop with the... Belgium have when correct American grammar is Belgium has. It's not being in the know, it's pretentious."
