If it is, then I think you’re right. I was seeing it as more of a Rav4 Offroad or Outback Wilderness competitor. Both of those are closing in on $40k, but also already pretty loaded up.

Yeah, in my mind “starts in the mid-40s” means $44k+. Even if there aren’t many trims available, surely you’re into the high 40s just basic options. So probably closing in on mid-50s starting for the higher trims.

Thank God Tesla came along to save us from the horrors of manual door handles. If not for their work, imagine the terrors we would be forced to endure.

But they won’t because

So, if I’m understanding correctly, it’s still not as simple of a conversion. The UK price doesn’t include taxes, but they wouldn’t be necessary. Most US states have a sales tax that would be charged at the time of registration. For me in NY that would be in the $3500 range for this car. Registration would be pretty

I also like it. I question whether that starting price is competitive, though.

Maybe someone can explain how the price for a used car translates across the pond? (I know new isn’t a simple currency conversion because of how they apply taxes and reg, but I don’t know about used).

They had me until the rust repair on the frame part. Seemed like a good contender for a small restoration project - have some fun and sell it in a few years for everything you have into it. But if the frame rust is notable enough to be in the ad, I’m not interested.

Older minivans are popular with a couple of demographics that might explain that.

When I moved with my FRS I used the u-haul trailer. Getting it on wasn’t too bad, a couple of thin boards were enough to avoid scraping the front bumper to get it on there. And then only once we had it on did we realize the door couldn’t open because it was too low. So I did what any reasonable person would do, and

I’m going to play devil’s advocate for the heck of it (though I do agree their BEV attempt has been underwhelming, to be generous).

There’s a guy in my neighborhood with a silver Frontier that was driving around for the past 3-4 months with the bed FILLED with flags, signs, and Trump dummies (which is redundant, I know).

People here in western NY will go over to Ontario sometimes. Logistically, it’s not too difficult to bring a car over and pay the tariff (it’s not quite that simple, but not too bad to save a lot of money in some cases). It can be particularly lucrative on used cars over the 100k km mark, which are a nice fresh 60-some

Imagine you’re a Chinese manufacturer that really wants to expand their footprint in central and south america, when suddenly a bunch of gently used automobile manufacturing plants in Mexico go up for sale. Oh happy day!

I don’t dissagree whith what you’re saying - I’d just like to add:

Because they think (because they were told and don’t have any critical thinking skills themselves) that every one of those cars is going to start being made in the US when the tariffs are put in place, which will create US jobs. See? It’s that simple! Why didn’t we just do that earlier?

Really most shitty old trucks fit the bill. Of course there’s some nice newer trucks that have the stickers, but I’m thinking of the ones that distinctively make me think “my man, maybe if you spent a little less on stickers and flags and painting your garage door (with the 2020 still sorta visible under the 2024) you

I agree this is meh (because the special addition doesn’t add much, and definately not an aesthetic that I think improves the car) but I think the $3k premium over the automatic is valid, if not a bit low. I think they’ll have a harder time selling that auto at $10k.

I think it’s in great condition and for the condition and mileage probably fairly close on price. If the special addition was anything meaningful (even something silly like slightly stiffer springs) I’d say NP. But it’s just appearance, and as much as I like these cars in yellow I do NOT like those silver stripes. So
