"An armed gunman took a group of people hostage on Sunday at a Lindt chocolate cafe in Sydney"

Actually, it's Monday here? So it's a workday, hence there are different implications regarding people being in and around the CBD.

Ugh, me too! "Period costume? Must be Mad Men."

Stockholm, for the "Millenium"/Girl with the dragon tattoo series. We visited a tonne of filming/book locations, including Blomkvist's apartment, Lisbeth's apartment, the Millenium office location, and various cafes and streets mentioned in the books. One of the museums offers a guided walking tour, but you can also

... I should have stopped here. I really should have.

But the third was good, in a so-bad-it's-good way! However, the second one was just plain...bad.

Just snorted so loudly my boyfriend heard me from the next room. Excellent gif use :)

Speaking as yet another Australian, I tend to disagree with you that Australians would *not* see this as verbal abuse. I would say that this is verbal abuse, as would my family and friends (and we're not particularly 'ritzy').

He's been busy doing quite a bit of theatre in Australia, and particularly in Melbourne. I saw him a few months ago in Melbourne's CBD, walking to the theatre before a show :) pretty awesome!

#corrections it's "MamaMia", not "MammaMia". It even says this in the tweets you've posted here... I mean, come on.

Iorek Byrnison!!!!!!!!!!!! (is that why someone posted the polar bear in armour? IS IT?!).

Speaking as someone who has had a series of awful photos taken of me (bullying by people I lived with; long story short, I had a cake smashed into my face and then numerous photos taken of it) I don't think it's okay. As some other people have pointed out, it's not okay (even if it is legal). I shudder at the thought

Oh! Strange Bedfellows! I *grew up* in the town that was filmed in (Yackandandah). Amazing!!! Can't believe people outside of Australia like that film.

Oh, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, I was reluctant to see it until my mum almost forced me into it, but it was actually great. Really uplifting, funny, and insightful. Hope it helped cheer you up after pseudo-dumping blues :)

Yes, I have "no idea why things sell", I've only done an undergraduate degree on advertising and sexism. Please, tell me more about something I've studied for four years. Hell, perhaps, you've studied it too, in which case we both have an understanding of why things sell.

Arghh. The Slap is amazing, and based on a really good book :) Recommend reading the book, too, if you're at all interested in suburbia-style dramas and race relations. Also, "Lantana" and "Jindabyne" are two good films if you haven't seen them already.
