The fact that she survived that blows my mind. A little surprised to see such a big fire.

When you run a car website so terribly that all the car people leave for other car websites your options are slim.

On today’s episode of Jalopnik’s staff hate rich people and will find any excuse to remind everyone!

Those rubber bands they used for tires are all I need to know about this “off roader”. At least pretend like Toyota did and put some off road tires on it.

In the original article they made it sound like he was using his knowledge of how things worked to help people game the system. Likely to help them, but it also ensures he gets paid.

Direct sales only benefits the customer in the sense that they’re buying direct from a mfg. and get to forego the obnoxious typical car buying experience. But that convenience costs a lot. Instead of dealers charging a markup to adjust for demand Tesla gets to do it themselves and keep all the profit.

Online dealer inventory is automated 99% of the time. Preordered vehicles will still show up online even though they aren’t for sale. For a good example search for a Bronco and see how many “for display only” Bronco’s there are listed for sale.

They survived below invoice because MFG’s give incentives to high volume dealerships. That’s why the most competitive dealers will also be the biggest. A typical 30K Toyota has about 2K in profit in it at MSRP.

4-5% is probably below average historically. We’ve just been spoiled by low rates for the past 10 years.

Except their business model is based on volume which historically relies on a steady inflow of inventory.

Knowing Haas they will likely do nothing.

This is the correct answer.

As someone who waited 18 months for a Focus RS that I ordered on day 1 and watched countless allocation come and go before my car finally showed up I salute you. If Ford could screw it up so bad without supply constraints, I can’t imagine how bad it is now. I would love a Bronco, it checks all the boxes, but I refuse

Can’t wait to watch testing when I get home....oh that’s right, F1 is giving us the shaft and not broadcasting it.

Ford, in particular, has a reputation for shitty just about everything. I can only speak for VW’s DSG and the 8 speed ZF in my Audi but both are just fine. The DSG has over 100k and while being a bit clumsy at parking lot speeds is a great unit and I haven’t had any issues with it other than pricy oil changes.

Name checks out.

The ‘Yota dealer by my house has always used a no haggle no hassle price which is usually very competitive. Bless their hearts they’ve stuck to it but last time I drove by they only had about a dozen new cars.

The market adjustments are what they are, everyone is getting away with it. The market will equalize eventually. The problem Kia can’t easily solve is their slimy dealer network.

They will be unobtanium for the foreseeable future anyways. The Bronco has been out for what, a year? I’ve seen like two of them and I live in a big city.

I drove manuals for 10 years (A ranger, two STI’s, a GTI and a Focus RS), my current vehicle is the first automatic car I’ve owned, ever.
