Nice. Not sure I’d call it earth shattering, since the 689cc parallel twin in the MT-07 has been making 75 HP for some time.  One of the many reasons I refuse to get rid of my slightly underpowered FZ-07 is its delicious exhaust note.

Worked for the illegal drug market. /s

Turbo’s brought lower rev limiters with them. No reason to rev to 8k when HP starts to fall off as the turbo exits its efficiency window.

You forgot the most important metric: influencers within 100 square miles. F1 isn’t interested in racing on good circuits in the middle of nowhere anymore. They’re into putting on weekend long events that happen to have racing.

F1 TV viewership in the US is up 50% over last year, which was up 50% over 2020.

They should build a fake marina by Eau Rouge and invite Megan the Stallion.

I don’t think interest rates are affecting most people yet. 1: since transaction prices are high mfgs. are just using the money they would’ve previously used for rebates to offer artificially low interest rates (win win for them). 2: people who can afford a 50k car probably don’t much care about an extra $30-40 bucks

F1 is clearly targeting big flashy cities to hold parties at which also happen to have a race at them. Saudi and Miami were both pretty good races so I’m not mad about it.

The S class would be my pick but it seems like he keeps his cars for a while and that will be a nightmare. I would buy the newest Lexus LS hybrid I could if I was him. Good on gas, big, and will never break.

They don’t hover, they fly.

With the exception of Tesla I don’t think any mfg is currently “hoping” for mass EV adoption. They’re perfectly happy making record profits thanks to cheap ICE power plants and paid for chassis tooling.

TBH: I’d prefer FWD. It’s better in snow, and I don’t have to worry about my wife spinning it around.

Cool. Now put that 77 KwH battery in a $40K FWD base model with 200 HP and let me go 400 miles on a charge.

I know it’s hard to believe, but the entire network to fuel gas and diesel vehicles was built in a 50-60 year timeframe. To think that we can’t build an electric infrastructure to support ~90% electric vehicles in the next 50 years is pretty daft. Your big Peterbilt will diesel/electric (like a locomotive) in the next

FiST is the answer. I would own one but after my FoRS I will never own a Ford ever again never ever ever never.

If you want to hear a clanky diesel I recommend starting a HMMWV equipped with an American General engine in a temperature below freezing. IF you can get it to start, you will hear the worst piston slap you’ve ever heard. Doesn’t matter the mileage on the engine. Makes that olds sound like a Lamborghini by comparison.

Thanks for proving my point.

ICE will die. Maybe not in our lifetime, but the writing is on the wall.

Correct me if I’m wrong; but building a huge warehouse and then an electric bill for artificial lighting sounds mighty expensive.

None of the Ecoboost engines sound good, regardless of cylinder count or displacement, but the Raptor engine definitely takes the cake.
