Who buys this thing? It wont be a good SUV and its too heavy to be decent around a track or down a strip. Top all that off with it being a FCA product and I’m genuinely scratching my head on this one.

Hopefully they remembered to forget the front calipers.
I knew that the F1 turbo’s used a electric motor to help with lag, but using it as a generator in place or in addition to a wastegate is genius. Curious how they manage those sensitive electronics around a very hot turbocharger.
This one of those “no shit dumb ass” moments.
This. I was walking down the beach in San Diego a few weeks ago admiring some of the decrepit houses lining the cliffside. No money to repair but they’re probably worth a few million as is.
Since he didn’t mention reliability...my vote is for a 335d. These little oil burners can be had ridiculously cheap (for good reasons which I’ll get to), get great MPG and make 500+ ft lbs of tire melting torque with a simple tune and DPF delete.
Came here to say WRX/STI but then saw needs not terrible interior and I got sad.
I had a similar experience when I bought my first STI at 19. Luckily I’m from a big city, so I drove 10 miles down the road to one of the other dealerships and had an excellent experience.
At 25K I’d expect perfection out of it. The color match on that lower bumper fascia is anything but perfect. The cheesy lettering under the hood and the gaudy valve covers make it a no brainer CP for me.
I 100% agree with you, but logic tends not to play a part in car buying.
Oh hell no. But like everyone else he’ll see nice big shiny truck and magically find the extra $150 a month in his budget.
Trucks are actually a good way to absorb some negative equity, since they typically have large rebates and discounts, and for the most part hold their value pretty well. Absorbing say 5k of negative equity into a truck with 8-10k in rebates would be easy. HOWEVER, since you’re paying 5k more than Bob for the same…
A small A3 fighter you say?? You mean like the....oh I don’t know...ATS???? If the ATS is more than a few inches bigger than the A3 I’d be shocked. The rear leg room is downright laughable. But hey, if this makes ATS-V prices drop I’m all for it.
The suspension is over sprung and under dampened. So you get a pogo effect when going over imperfect roads (concrete with old expansion joints, etc.). Other than that it’s not super harsh or anything, just bouncing up and down in my seat isn’t up there on my list of things I like to do. For comparison, my last three…
I’m in the same boat just about. 8 mile commute, all surface streets. I’m thinking about picking up a Duke 390, I’ve seen last years models as low as 3.5k new.
Probably someone who wants to look over the age of 30. Also the Focus RS is absolutely dreadful on the road (Focus RS owner here).
Sorry, but anyone who would divorce you over something you want to do is in fact a “drag”. As in dragging your life into misery. But, it seems more like you don’t want a bike anyway, and were just being dramatic. I’m sure she’s a fine person, no disrespect intended.
In response to #6, she sounds like a drag, I’d pick the motorcycle lol. I must have just gotten lucky with a wife who doesn’t try to act like my mother.
VW is pretty good with warranty + mods, unless we’re talking tunes then it goes out the window. Although they did try to charge me $100 to drain my washer tank when the light wouldn’t go off because I used non VW fluid with the wrong “electrolyte balance.”
SUBARU: Making interiors fit for the 90's, since 2017. Seriously I thought those black and grey info screens died a decade ago.
