I’d almost guarantee your Mustang (I’m assuming 5.0) makes less than 200 ft lbs below 1700 RPM. Its impossible to know for sure since no one in their right mind would dyno a car at such low RPM. At 2500 RPM its making ~270 fl lbs, while a turbocharged Focus RS is making 290 ft lbs. So for the 99% of people who drive

I’m a little surprised Ford hasn’t just purchased UMC themselves. Last time I was there it was 100% Ford activities. They test there, the RS, ST, GT350, Raptor and race schools are there, and they do press releases there.

If youre shifting your car at 1500 RPM and it doesnt burn diesel youre doing more harm to it than revving it up to 4k RPM on every shift. Low engine speed + high load is terrible on the rod bearings.

You might need to have your butt-dyno looked at. The EB in the Mustang makes absolutely no power above 5k RPM. The turbo is tiny to give it gobs of low end tq but suffers greatly for it at the top end.

While that’s true, output per liter has gone up substantially over the last few years. 200+ HP out of a N/A 4 cylinder is pretty impressive for a cookie cutter car. In a way Toyota is still appealing to the older generation with both engine options, because the only thing worse than a 4 cylinder to them is one with a

From my experience selling cars the base model v6 models don’t sell, like at all. 95% of the people don’t buy the V6 because they want to hoon it, they’re mostly stuck in the 90's and think the 4 pot is going to be a dog.

I feel like this article should be called: “Don’t run your car out of gas”, and then maybe the word duh after. As long as fuel is passing through the pump it isn’t going to overheat and the few seconds that its sucking fumes isn’t going to be catastrophic unless you run out of gas on a weekly basis.

It does make me question slightly what else has been overlooked. At this point, with such low miles probably every piece of soft rubber under the hood should be inspected and/or replaced.

Good eye on the tires. Must have been stored in a garage its entire life, they look in remarkably good condition considering their age. They’re probably just barely softer than a rock at this point though.

I can hardly believe the type R has a wider turning circle than the RS. Its laughable how bad the turning circle is in the RS. I had to three point turn the other day making a U-turn with two opposing lanes AND a shoulder.

Wheels need to be flush. Probably needs 15-20mm less offset, either by wider wheels/less offset or spacers. Spacers b/c lets be honest, no one’s going to take it to the track and spacers are just fine for mall duty.

1st: Manufacturers struggling with headlights need to look no further than VW. Their Bi-Xenon setups with auto leveling, cornering, and the little corner lights are by far the best systems I’ve ever used. I’m guessing their overall light output is higher than allowed because the corner lights don’t function if the

It can even be slightly more complicated than that. High volume dealerships usually get (rather substantial) unit bonuses from the manufacturer. That’s why I often recommend buying from large high volume dealerships. For one, they don’t care as much about profit/loss on one car because they are selling hundreds a

Tax breaks on EV’s just need to go away. How about make them be competitive with ICE cars so people actually want to buy them, instead of using my tax dollars to pay for Joe Shmoe’s 100k Tesla.

I’m assuming they knew he was armed, as coming in guns blazing isn’t warranted otherwise. If that’s the case I can’t think of a much worse scenario to attempt this apprehension in. He’s in a small confined area, surrounded by people. Add onto that their shitty tactics and this is the end result. Glad no one else was

You don’t see them on the road in the US because dealers are still trying to get absurd markups out of them. Look on Cars.com and you will see literally a thousand of them rotting on dealer lots across the country. I’ve only seen one other besides mine and they’ve been out for a year now.

I’d like to know realistically how accurate this thing is. I know we have some amazing tech but that warhead is traveling 15,000 feet per second. Even if the warhead is reasonably big the margin of error is quite literally zero.

Tell that to the people who paid 10K over sticker for an RS when they first hit the states. Hype outweighs logic 99.9% of the time.

Only because it can only be had fully loaded. Similarly equipped it’s about the same price as the RS & STI. Maybe even a bit cheaper if you consider the safety tech (BLIS, collision avoidance, parking sensors, etc.) that you can’t get on a US spec STI or RS.

Rev hang is probably here to stay unfortunately. Someone figured out that slowly closing the throttle body is great for emissions. My Focus RS is probably the worst offender I’ve ever driven. When its cold the revs actually climb 3-400 RPM before hanging and then dropping. Apparently its a function to help get the cat
