Have you looked at the 1M market? You can buy a 6 year newer M2 for the same money.

One by my house doesn’t have any signage, so its uncontrolled which I believe means everyone yields to the traffic in the circle as usual. People usually just creep half way into it and then sit there like idiots.
No. Most of us are too busy ragging on anything that doesn’t fit within our idea of “proper modifications” to have time to meet up. Plus its a lot easier to talk shit with your keyboard than it is in person.
But Air Force 1 isn’t called Air Force 1 without the president onboard. probably significantly cheaper too, since planes aren’t usually 200k/hr.
Their build quality is far from questionable. They are built to a higher standard than your average Ford, Honda, Toyota, etc. because they need to be reliable to 100k. If you compare a loaded Camry to a loaded Optima you would be rather blown away at what you get for less money in the Optima.
KIA definitely dug themselves into a hole in the 90's and early 2000's as far as brand perception goes, but they’ve been churning out some seriously good stuff since 2010. I worked for them when they were transitioning from shitty 10k Rio’s and Spectra’s to Optima’s and Forte’s, and worked for Toyota shortly after.…
If it makes you feel any better my 2.3L 4 banger only manages about 2mpg better in the city.
GTI has a lot more rear leg room and cargo room than an ST. Well, at least my MK6 GTI was much bigger inside than my RS is, and the MK7 looks bigger than the MK6. I would definitely at least try to make the GTI work.
I feel your pain. Ford decided a 13 gallon tank would be just fine for the RS. I’m lucky to stretch 220 miles out of it around town, maybe 300 on the highway if I have a tail wind.
The LWB would be sweet for a rock crawler. But it would need an Atlas T-case, axles, FI, wheels, tires....well basically everything from the frame down.
Except they’re using the A/C system, so its circulating freon, not coolant.
After working in the auto industry I can tell you that GAP is absolutely essential for most loans these days on new cars. At 60 or 72 months with 5-10% down there is just no way you’re going to keep up with depreciation for the first couple years. I usually recommend it to anyone who’s loan will be over 90% LTV, but…
I don’t understand the turbocharger = unreliable/unproven mindset. Basically every diesel engine made in the last 40 years has been turbocharged. Not to mention a turbocharger is not an expensive fix/rebuild if it does fail. Added fuel econ and a huge jump in TQ are worth the potential gamble, IMO.
I put one of those HUGE Autometer tachometers on my ‘99 3L Ranger because it didn’t have one from the factory......it was an automatic. Bolted it straight to the dash, I’m not proud.
2008ish Mazda3. Car wasn’t as terrible as the girlfriend. It was slow, loud, the electric power steering made an annoying weeee-weeeee-weee when turning at slow speeds and the AC blower took a dump around 20k miles resulting in the entire dash being town apart. My brother crashed into it once, which probably didn’t…
Supply will be low because demand for something like this is LOW. When the RS hit the states dealers were putting 10K markups on them. Once they had been sitting on them for 6 months they realized the market is pretty small for a 40k hatchback, and incredibly small for a 50k hatchback. I don’t know if VW still limits…
GTI all the way! Not too much power, great interior, for the most part reliable and has the turning circle of a golf cart. Plus its safe! A gently used one can be had well under budget. Drove one for 5 years and it never gave me a single problem. Pretty cheap to maintain as well, with the exception of the 40K DSG…
From my experience selling cars, the first quote is pretty standard. Managers always try to hit people just hard enough that they won’t throw water in your face and storm out, but they sure as hell think about it.
There’s a crash test regulation that requires the center console to remain latched closed during a roll over. The EU R doesn’t latch closed, its a ratcheting system. You can look up FMVSS 201 if you’re interested or just super bored like me.
Basically everything for the FoRS is on backorder, ask me how I know. Looks like it took a front end hit, and nearly everything from the rad support forward is bespoke to the RS.
