What’s awful about this is that so much of it happened because of the success of Dragon Age Inquisition, which is an awful game to begin with. I honestly can’t believe it got so much praise. Even only 5 years later it holds up awfully in regards to what open world are nowadays -not in terms of content, but of

BDM is the personification of the Pro Tour, and now that he’s stepping away from it there was no better way to honor him. Literally no one else had an issue with him getting the spot.

Great reporting as always. Didn’t expect less from Kotaku in general, and you specifically. Thank you for covering this story.

Just one quick thing: Turtenwald did not win 7 GPs in 2011, he made top 8 at 7 GPs. Winning a GP is extemely hard (most HoFs, like Turtenwald, can count their GP wins on one hand) and making

I should be a bit more precise and say that Valenciano and Catalán are officially different languages, so what you see in the photo is, officially, Valenciano. That said, both variations are completely mutually inteligible.

It’s Catalán, a local language in the Valencian Community (as in, a political and administrative division of Spain) and Cataluña. Far more important than a local dialect, it’s one of several languages that existed in Spain for centuries before the unification and the expansion of the language known in the English

Magic wouldn’t be the same game without its highly competitive scene, and it’s been like that from the beginning. Competitive players are the ones who push the boundaries of deckbuilding and force Wizards to, in turn, push the boundaries of card design. I just don’t believe a game like Magic is viable without its

I’ve never watched any of his streams, but the way he talked about his success as “luck of the draw” makes me like him a bit.

This is such a surprisingly Deadspin-like comment to find here on Kotaku

Good write up Billy. Finally someone not from LA gets it

“Nigeria could have the best basketball team of all time!”

Buddy, did you read that last paragraph?

Barrilete Cósmico

That a counterfeit market exists doesn’t mean people don’t care about quality, it means that most people don’t have the means to access quality, but do have the means to access branding. Do you even understand how markets work? Do you get that you have to pay a price to acquire a product? Demand for quality products

this is the dumbest comment I’ve read in Kotaku in a while

Their market doesn’t offer quality products (at an affordable price) and so they play what they can play. It boggles my mind that you see those games and the first conclusion you jump to is “huh, guess these people don’t care about quality”.

Lol, stop it with that cheap American exceptionalism. As if something of this gravity hasn’t happened in the US before.

I don’t want to say what the hell were they expecting but... what the hell were they expecting?

Its almost surprising that Simmons still hasn’t deleted that tweet.

Anyone who only has the information this report gives us saying that there’s no way this succeeds and that the author made a choice, hold it.

This is on Serena, not the ref. And she is the one that should be apologizing for ruining Osaka’s day.
