I don’t like pirating if I don’t need to, but ROMs and emulators are often times the only way to play old games in any sort of practical, faithful way.
What sucks is that this kind of controversy usually starts in huge outlets that are much more focused in the marketing and consumer side of things, such as IGN, but the generalization ends up hitting sites like Kotaku and Waypoint anyways.
It depends on the developers and what their goals are ultimately. We just shouldn’t apply the same criteria to every developer.
