I totally get that. Socialization/conditioning, etc, is powerful shit!

aaand I realize I”m like 1000 years late to this thread...
I feel like she is a person who can be “a lot” and she probably feels like breaking barriers/taboos is her brand so she has to live it every minute of every day. There’s a difference between breaking taboos in general, and making individuals you interact with feel uncomfortable. She doesn’t seem to grasp that…
This is verified. There is actual research that indicates this!
just because Miki may be problematic doesn’t mean that the company isn’t worth supporting or that you should stop using a product you like. No need to feel guilty.
It’s obviously very different and more complex for WOC, not trying to force an equivalence, but I’ve been surprised by the overarching “curls aren’t professional” bullshit. I recently cut my hair short and my hair *poof* became curly AF. A good friend of mine has gorgeous natural curls but she always straightens her…
I recently watched the short film “The Big Chop” on HBOGo, and it gave me (a white woman) a newfound sliver of understanding for what a fraught decision that must be. Best of luck to you! You’ll be beautiful no matter what!
*ahem*
THIS IS SO GOOD
as a coke drinker (alas very occasionally) this makes me smug.

mmm, yes, of course, lanyards! Blue blazer on the left camouflages it well.
totally fair. I just think it’s relevant that the infraction would be a million times worse had Clinton *asked* for advance questions and also received them.

Also I don’t know of any evidence that she solicited the debate questions. The blame goes to an unscrupulous debate representative, not her. I’m happy to hear corrections if I’m off base here, though.
Research indicates (apparently) that there is no correlation between acne and fash-washing. If you’re gonna have acne, you’ll have it regardless of whether or not you wash your face and vice versa. I still wash my face at night to scrub off all my makeup, but I stopped washing it in the mornings about 10 years ago.
I only wash my legs if I’m at the beach/pool and have sunscreen on my legs. Otherwise they feel oily/covered in residue.
What the hell is wrong with you? Jesus no one needs to scrub their areas twice. That’s just asking for microfissures and chapping and you guessed it, increased risk for infection. There is a sweet spot of washing your skin... too little and there’s bacteria, too much and your skin is dry and cracked and harbors even…
A bizarre fact of human psychology is change aversion. People would rather keep doing a bad thing than decide to change, even if *any* change would improve their lives. It’s pretty nuts. Colloquially it’s “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t” even if the “devil you don’t [know]” is not, in fact, a…
