If you saw the final shot of Jamie sitting in her hotel room watching the door, waiting for Dani to return but knowing that she never would, and the final shot was behind her with ghost-Dani’s hand on her shoulder ... and you didn’t feel *something* then ... wow, just ... wow.

tl;dr

Flora knew about the Lady in the Lake’s pattern from the dollhouse. She knew that Viola entered the house, went to that bedroom, looked at the bed for awhile, and then left.

The idea that Hill House wasn’t evil is contradicted by the entire series. It clearly inspired their mother’s suicide.”

But Hill House is not evil. The only evil ghost in that house is Poppy, and that’s because she was insane when she was alive so she was insane as a ghost. All of the other ghosts in that house didn’t try to hurt the family - they were just living their “ghost lives”.

Hannah literally saves the day by telling Jamie and Owen to go to the lake.

I do like that the series ends on a somewhat hopeful note, but it’s also almost too corny for me, and I love corny romance! Especially corny lesbian romance.”

I’ve seen every episode of the series twice now, so I can confirm that rewatching is rewarding...except when it comes to the penultimate episode which I think I would advise for people to just skip?”

It was hilarious reading all of the comments here saying that this episode killed the momentum by having the penultimate episode be a flashback episode that didn’t progress the present day story.

This was a well-written episode, I don’t know what episode you watched.

In the flashbacks before Jessel dies people comment on the muddy footprints in the house.  So this isn’t a plot hole, you just weren’t paying attention.

Nope.

It’s much better for Henry to be haunted by his own sense of shame and evilness for having an affair with his brother’s wife, and *that’s* the reason he won’t go to Bly.  That’s a much better reason than him feeling haunted by his brother and sister-in-law whenever he goes to Bly.

Except we don’t see anything to back that up.  Everything we see of Viola before she gets sick is of an independent woman who is willing to marry a man in order to keep her home and family business going.  She’s never seen being a monster to anyone before she gets sick.

This episode was great, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Rick Mercer - Talking to Americans.

I thought it was a mistake to adapt Hill House as a family drama miniseries”

I feel bad for you.

They said that all of the suitors they met were unworthy of them. Arthur is the only good man they could find to trust to be a suitor for either of them. All they needed was one man to marry one of them so they would have a man to keep the house and businesses going.

What are you talking about?  This show doesn’t adhere to a “strict running time”.  Every episode is a different length
