So, after almost being eaten by a house, Steven and Hugh say ‘we’re gonna hang here for a while with the house,’ and no one blinks an eye?”

She made Hugh give up his life to release his children.”  No she didn’t.  Hugh was the one who made this offer.  Olivia was not asking him to do this at all.  It was all his idea.

And he got to live as a ghost with his wife and daughter in the house, which allowed his remaining children to escape and live their lives.  This was not his plan, but it was a reward.

Yes, vasectomies can be reversed.  This happens in the real world.

This is a hilariously bad take.

Mrs. Walker reciting a well-rehearsed bullshit story to Steven.”

No, the house didn’t give her that gift.  She inherited it from her mother (and grandmother).  That hand-holding in bed was probably the first time she actually used it though.

The Dudleys, who had protected themselves so well despite their proximity, end up being snared as a whole, every last one of them.”

I really don’t get Theo taking off her gloves.”

Stephen clearly got a vasectomy during those 2 years and that’s why Leigh is pregnant. The only reason he got a vasectomy is because he thought his entire family had some inherited mental illness.  He now knows that isn’t true, so he feels he can safely have children.

Theo takes off her gloves (even though that makes no sense)

Luke tried to burn the house at night, when it is active.” The house is active during the day. There are multiple occurrences of ghosts appearing during the daytime. Trying to burn the house during the day would not have worked.

They already knew that the game was going to be in at least 2 seasons, so they probably planned out what the season 2 finale would be - it’s likely a *big* event to tide over viewers (most of whom haven’t played the game) as they waited for the next season to start. They originally thought they would have 9 episodes

the ‘scary’ elements were so rote and poorly done.”

Remember when the Ghost Protocol trailer came out and there was all this talk that they were introducing Renner in that film to take over the franchise because there were rumors that Cruise wanted to leave the franchise, or just hand it off to someone else?

What? No! Not Kanye! I don’t believe it!

Stephen literally thinks that his entire family has some form of mental illness that is inherited.  *That’s* why he got the vasectomy - he didn’t want to pass this illness on to any potential children.

I guess you missed the part where Stephen feels that his entire family - including him - suffer from mental illness and it can be passed down to children. That’s the reason he got the vasectomy. He doesn’t want to have any children that would have to suffer from this inherited mental illness.

Seriously, who watched the first 5 episodes and thought “Man, these are not engrossing at all”?

The reviewer’s reviews of the previous episodes have mostly been about how this was not a *true* adaptation of the source material, and was not like the 1960s novel. For whatever reason she could not get over the fact that this was an updated version of the novel.
