All true and yet much of that has to do with the time it was written. We wouldn’t put up with a show like that now, but in the 90's, Ellen was villified for coming out. The world has come a LONG way since then - particularly in LGBTQ acceptance (MINUS ALL REPUBLICANS). Even in just the last 10. And a lot of the

It’s no longer available on amazon streaming. :( Not for purchase. You can probably see it if you already own it, but you can’t buy any of it right now. Sigh. (I’m hoping this means that it’s prepping to come back on Netflix???)

“I wish it was on Netflix. :(“ Me too! Apparently it WAS on Netflix, but was removed right before I got my subscription. :( Such a great show. Me and my husband constantly say, “I’m a genius!”

“Besides, no one can make conservatism funny because that kind of comedy doesn’t work in the real world.” Yes and read Patton Oswalt’s twitter feed. Along with many other comedians, he has put forth the theory that many conservatives are just unfunny people who wished they were comedians or in entertainment, and

Same. Tim Allen happened to play Jason Nesmith playing Captain Taggart, and I love Captain Taggart, and all his bravado. So when I watch that movie, I don’t even “see” Tim Allen. I can still enjoy that movie and appreciate the writers and all the other actors. I won’t let one bad apple spoil an entire bowl of

I half-watched a few episodes on Netflix before bailing, hard. I’ve seen shared clips since then. The reason it’s a conservative show is because the show frequently makes snide, underhanded comments about liberals. They don’t even have to be comments directly about liberals, but they’ll compare a canoe to a tree,

Ditto. I still have a stack of unwatched episodes on my DVR that I’m excited to delete. I was initially interested in the idea of a man returning to the work force to find it had completely changed since he’d last been there. I.e. the idea of comparing a workplace environment like a tech startup (or Google etc.) to

Don’t forget about how he pissed off China by taking a call from Taiwan.

I would vote for your dog.

I’ve been feeling this way allllll day,, even though it’s only Tuesday.

Yes! Sitcoms of the last few years have featured very upper middle class (or higher) families. Case in point: Modern Family. Everybody gets to go to college, and that college is paid for, and any “hilarious mishaps” that might occur can easily be solved with $$$. Blackish and Grace and Frankie (both which I love)

No big spoilers: I loved Master of None Season 1, so I binged Season 2 this weekend. While I loved what they were doing in some of the episodes (Thanksgiving, Religion, New York, Dating), I found much of it to sacrifice plot for the sake of art (and not really art, but often just cinematography.) There were a lot of

Totally agree with you. I liked season 1 better, and felt season 2 was admirable but often pretentious (there was an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee where Jerry asks the guest “what’s more pretentious? (Calling a movie a) Movie, Picture, or Film?”) That’s what season 2 felt like to me. Being artsy at

I’m loving this sentence: “when I watch it I think I appreciate it more than I enjoy it” YES! This is it for me too. I finished the whole season this weekend, so I’m left with an “eh” feeling. There were many great things in season 2, but those great things don’t erase some of the more pretentious things (filming

“I think there is a sort of judgment from the rest of the world about the US regarding food, and I apologise since I think some of that coloured my reaction.” I think the reaction from outside the U.S. is based on the visions of junk food that are well publicized and promoted by huge companies (example: during the

Yes, I’d like to see Emma’s character being happy. She got such a shit deal in the movie. :(

It was a hard YES because Alan was actually on board for the Galaxy Quest TV series, along with the majority of the rest of the cast, before he got ill and then passed. :( So it WAS a great idea, and then when he passed, it got shuttered. Rightfully so. It would have been so good. Sigh.

Thank you - searching to see if someone finally said something. Was wondering how the trolling and subsequent pro-trolling support had unfolded without someone mentioning this.

lol

Gotta agree with Zeetal, chocolate cream pie on its own is actually a really great pie (a cousin of french silk pie) and it’s very popular. But it’s NOT served with ice cream, like, until #45. No one does this. As others have said, the texture of it paired with the texture of hard ice cream just.....doesn’t....work.
