I agree with you here. I think people are too ready to dismiss gatorade because it’s been marketed as a miracle drink (<cough>Brawndo...</cough>) but there are times when it hits the spot. I have hit the point where water isn’t helping, juice feels hard on the stomach and gatorade made me feel great right away.

Right, for me soy milk and almond milk are great for cereal and components of recipes. Drinking a glass of either, straight and unflavored, is not so good and I’m not sure who does that.

I just read the whole thing. Thanks for posting that. It’s a lot to process. Tough stuff. This is not how he was portrayed to me for a long time and I’m an old. Much of the article is Jefferson’s own writings and records that really shed light on his thoughts and character.

Thanks for clarifying that. I had always read that Jefferson had different views on slavery than what is evident in that letter. It looks like he was taking advantage of the situation just as much as other owners at the time.
