nothing good can come of hanging out anywhere near Adrien Broner.

he’s lucky to be alive. Another guy who could have been a legend, Diego Coralles, didn’t survive a motorcycle accident. Hopefully no paralysis like Paul Williams, and, like Williams, he has enough in the bank to live comfortably the rest of his life.

we had one at my HS, but it was completely unexpected - a Dutch girl that set all of our school records in XC.  Other than that, it was mainly kids who were allowed on the team for the experience and generally sucked at sports.

Some high school kids are also getting fucked

one of the schools my HS played annually had an AD who was also the director of the foreign exchange program. Their teams always had one or two foreign ringers each year leading them to states.

Season two was a mess because the writers thought they were going to be cancelled after season one and there was the writers strike around then. Seasons three and especially four, however, were incredibly well done and I’m man enough to admit to tears during the finale; an episode which ranks as one of the best series

at the charity game I was at (Thunder Dan was raising money so kids in Grand Rapids, MI schools didn’t have to do pay to play) he was raining threes and at one point pulled up from nearly 40 and calmly drained it. He was the man indeed.

I forgot he ever was as I’ve tried to block out the entire teal era from memory (great article in The Athletic about the teal debacle, BTW).

don’t worry, he’s got a guaranteed contract so even if he’s paralyzed he’ll be set for life. Oh, wait, that’s right, no such thing in the NFL. Carry on.

I can’t make any jokes in this thread, being paralyzed for any amount of time has to be the worst thing someone can physically experience. I agree with you, it’s only a matter of time until we see a death on the field.

4) blame everything bad on minorities and immigrants.

they love to use the homeless as a prop for advancing their agenda but helping them is the last thing on their minds.  It makes for great “look at the failure of these liberal enclave cities” rants but solutions? To hell with that, it would cost money and we need that for walls, ammunition (which the military never

is it because he could also be your father?

as a Lions fan in MI I did....and to think they only had 1 playoff win in his career depresses me even more now than it did then.

when a female is in the midst of drinking six Hurricanes at Pat O’Brien’s, hell yes was she fun! She woke up the next morning and her first question was “how did I get all of these beads?” “You earned them.”

my buddy bought me a Christian Laettner T-Wolves shirt in high school, kind of as a joke because teammates on my hoops team said I looked like him (even though he ripped my heart out by beating the Fab Five), so he became my favorite non-Pistons player.  I also was a big Dan Majerle after meeting him at a charity

I once told a girl I from Winnipeg I met at a conference I attended during high school my favorite non Red Wing was Teemu Selanne in a feeble, failed attempt to hook up with her.

yep, backspace and retype (which I just did). Spellcheck doesn’t always catch things either.

My wife’s favorite is Cam Newton. She met him at an Heisman event her old company sponsored and he was extremely friendly and openly thanked everyone for putting on the event. Andrew Luck was also there: “super awkward.” It used to be McNabb - she flashed him in New Orleans and he gave her beads. Her favorite

Add self interest to that, since a star player for Gonzaga in Spokane is not going to get the endorsement money that star player at a traditional power is going to get and you get the nonsense that he’s spouting.
