Wondering if it’s Kreisel-powered like other e-motorsports. I’m all for electrification and builds like these showcase the technology well, but I won’t argue with purists that motorsport should remain ICE.

I’ve seen them on the highway a few times. They’re a modern interpretation of a 1998 Buick Regal, just completely uninteresting aesthetically.

When I found out that god has a twisted sense of humor and blessed my family with a second set of twins, I demanded that we buy something more interesting and fun than a minivan. Friend, do you know how awful the gas mileage is on an Ecoboost Flex? Astonishingly bad. This is a viable SUV for people with kids that

I had the famous MCU1 failure in my S, and I was able to drive the car to a service center even though the screen was black and wouldn’t reboot. No HVAC or turn signal sounds (still had actual signals), and I was told it wouldn’t charge unless fixed, but could still actually drive the vehicle under its own power. I

94.5 kWh is pretty crazy for a townhouse!

Traded an eGolf for longer range of a Model S (wife drives 55 mi r/t), and the quality difference was night/day.

The classic id shooters are essential gaming experiences. When my kids get old enough to play mature FPS games, I’m going to require that they play DOOM (and/or Quake) at least once.

well there’s no pause, so he couldn’t set the controller down to answer anyway.

I’m completely blown away by the sheer number of people who are apparently sitting-in-traffic-crawling-around-city-centers-in-their-car enthusiasts. Who in their right mind gets angry over banning cars in densely-populated city centers? If you live there, owning a car is more annoying and expensive anyway; and if you

Thankfully HFW just dropped so you can sit through a bunch of cut scenes before you get to your ubilike.

I’ve got things for you:

A big problem with these cars is that you can’t get anything for them from the aftermarket, and scheduling service is abysmal. It’s truly the worst of both worlds: you can’t get new parts to DIY anything, but you also can’t get into a service center for weeks, either.

Exactly. Though I will say, I’d expect better from a $60k vehicle. A couple friends have new Broncos and they’re hilariously loud, with an interior that looks 10 years old. Cool looking trucks, though, and they report that they at least have a bit of off-road chops.

And door handles from a Miata.

I put a 1TB SSD in my Pro when I couldn’t get a PS5. It the best $100 I’ve spent.

Isn’t the MCU recall for black screen of death? I had mine replaced earlier this year, and the instrument cluster has started to get the bubbles. Rear motor went out, and a door handle has been replaced, all under warranty. I did have to remove another door handle and adjust the limiter because the door kept popping

The problem is that the wiring harness is prone to damage from chafing and the gear is cheaply made. It takes about an hour and $75 in parts to fix.

the aerospace company I started my career at priced components based on cycle time and remaining life. that is, when an engine or APU came in for repair or overhaul, they would often install off-the-shelf components in lieu of waiting for disposition/repair. there was also a maintenance service program paid per flight

Yeah, efficiency still isn’t standardized: my eGolf used mi/kWh, my Tesla is Wh/mi. Either way, these behemoths are significantly more power-hungry than either of those. They’re ~450Wh/mi, or about 2.25 mi/kWh, whereas the Tesla is 250-300 Wh/mi (3.5 mi/kWh) and eGolf <250Wh/mi (>4 mi/kWh).
