There is no way to know that this is what actually happened, but this is absolutely what happened.

It’s barely worth reporting that Trump didn’t inform Mattis himself, why would he? Trump’s a sniveling coward. And he’s got to be intimidated by a guy like Mattis who has accomplished difficult things and volunteered to spend years in physical danger.

It’s hilarious that the dotard, upon presumably having somebody read the letter to him, was too stupid to realize it was an insult. He made that tweet about Mattis retiring with honors, then started dumping on him two days later after Fox and Friends explained the letter to him.

I’m curious as to how long an administration can get by on “I fired the guy the Senate confirmed and just stuck an “Acting” in front of the asshole I picked.”

I suppose I’m a tiny bit heartened by the idea that Erdogan was a tiny bit mean to him and he threw a tantrum and quit. Maybe he will resign when the House starts impeachment proceedings. 

There have still be areas in this region that haven’t completely recovered from the ridiculously savage 2004 Christmas earthquake and tsunami. A quarter of a million people died in that disaster and did about 3 billion in damages.
