yes, my cars are 12 and 14 years old and will be replacing one as soon as I find something that checks the boxes.

interesting workaround but I would only consider legitimate solutions. Double tapping a 30 amp dryer line with an extension chord running across the house wouldn’t work. Maybe if the dryer was in the garage I would consider it.

If I had a PHEV or IC as a backup then sure I could make due with a limit of 40 miles of driving per day. But, now my cost of ownership includes owning and maintaining a second car.

gas price impact “polls” are not worth much. When people are asked about the impact of gas prices their opinion does not match their actions.

Price is still too high and there aren’t enough options for them to be mainstream.

you went there didn’t you. Here comes the “dogs are people too” crowd.

If you look closely the portion that gave out appears to be a patch that was done previously. A portion of the patch remains. The color of concrete is lighter and a slightly different color. You can also see some overlapping wire mesh. Like they put new mesh in the patch.

Father is a careerlong auto technician for GM dealerships (Cadillac, Buick, now Chevrolet). FIL is a retired GM executive. Spent his entire career with GM too.

Hey look, actual facts. How refreshing. Thank you!

IDK, one of my cars is lowered a little (like 1 inch) and has performance rotors and brakes and steeper rear end gearing. These are off-road (ie track) mods. But it’s not unsafe. It actually performs better then stock. it’s hard to paint this issue with a broad brush.

My experience is that the non-modified trucks are the ones doing the most work. My dad has a truck that is used to the max one way or another nearly every weekend. I personally have used it and maxed both payload and towing on separate occasions. Most weekends its loaded down like Sanford and Sons. Straight stock Silve

Lifted bro trucks.

Genuinely interested how compromised it is for every day use. Just seems like an extra wide, long wheel base, knobby tired vehicle would just be a chore to drive for 99% of everyday use cases.

ohh restomod, what engine would you suggest putting in it?

I had the same thought. I can’t follow the “front plates look bad but a front plate wrap looks so much better”. They both look the same, exactly the same.

there are license plate frames that mount with automotive trim adhesive tape. Pretty much the same as the adhesive on a wrap and easier to change plates when you want to.

ha, if you actually read what I posted you’d notice that I take no issue with what they are doing. I’m taking issue with how they are trying to spin things and paint a picture that the executives are some altruistic saviors when they are just trying to cover their butts.

not saying it’s bad. Just rubs me that they make the effort to point it out in the press release. I’m sure they are doing a great many things to free up cash but they make sure to point out the executive salary item. Like it makes the sting of being one of the 2,500 people laid off feel better.
